Suggestions for Improvements to The Merchant Alliance

  • I've looked around in the other posts on the forums at the ideas about Merchant Alliance improvements raised by other members of our community, and I thought I would present here the ones which I personally think have the most merit. Let me know what you think!

    • Make it possible to buy and sell chicken/snake/pig crates from the Merchant Alliance, as part of the Supplies category. Players can only buy 3 of each crate type at a time, and cannot sell them to the same Merchant person they bought them from. Crates do not contribute to emissary value until they’re full.

    • Lost Shipments now give far more loot, like how it was in Season 1 when the voyage first appeared.

    • Change the commodity system so that multiple outposts have the same commodity in surplus or in demand, rather than just one, to change up the best way to run commodities week to week, and make commodity-running more unique and interesting.

    • Increase the gold and reputation received for selling anything to the Merchant Alliance (yes, including commodities). This should help make merchants more attractive as a faction to work for, and give the feeling of being a big trade runner loaded with goods.

    • Increase the number of animals that need to be caught on a merchant voyage to collect animals (8 animals or more, perhaps?)

    • Whenever you capture an animal or gathered a requested item add strikethrough lines, ticks or green checkmarks next to all of the gathered items IMMEDIATELY. This way everyone can see what was captured and what is still needed. If an animal dies or cage/item is lost a red X can appear next to it until recovered.

    • Pigs in cages need to only be fed once a day. It "resets the timer" if you feed them when they're not hungry. Chickens must be fed with bait to be kept alive, and Snakes must be fed with raw meat to be kept alive.

    • Make all the animals worth the same amount of gold and reputation. Everyone knows by now that the golden animals are worth the most gold and reputation, which means a lot of people will just cancel the voyages until they have a voyages that will offer them the best amount of golden animals. If all the animals were worth the same, this wouldn't be an issue.

    The voyages give you those for free....

    Its the best way to get players to sail the whole map or half.

    Increase the gold and reputation received for selling anything to the Merchant Alliance

    More or Equal to other factions? idk I seem to think MA pays more than GH or OoS when done right.

    Noooo no no. No thank you. Pigs are enough. :)

    Meanwhile, while they are busy canceling and reloading/Hoping. Ive collected enough animals that out beast a single Gold animal.
