Remove Cannon Skeletons

    To make the game a little challanging. To get to a fort just point your ship at it, go full sail and stay down stairs. I miss the days when they did not despawn skelly cannons once you go to the fort. You had to think about where you placed your ship. Now its too easy.

    Not to sound like a jerk, but I solo sloop all the time and while the aimbotty fort skellys can be annoying depending on the situation, the issue isn't the skeletons firing at you; the issue is your lack of calm in dealing with them.

    I have had the exact situation in which I was approaching a fort and got disconnected and yeah, my ship was taking on water when I got back in. What did I do? I bucketed, repaired and then jumped onto the island to take on the fort.

    Emergent PVE is not a problem, it's a feature. Otherwise the game would be extremely boring to play, in my opinion.

    Maybe the upcoming custom servers would be something you'd enjoy; turn the PVE enemies off and sail around to your heart's content.

    I truly don’t know how you’re having such a difficult time with these forts. I’ve been one-balled by them as well, but if I’m gong straight to the island I’m taking several holes at most within the short period of approach. I don’t think I’ve ever sunk from the approach. I’ve died countless times in HG matches with more holes than a fort has ever delivered and came back for the save.

    Have you tried just driving straight towards the island full speed to minimize the amount of time the cannons have to hit you? You could also make your approach based on cannon angle, minimizing the amount of opportunities.

  • @jack-flintlock I literally consider myself a pve lord instead of a pvp lord, I have no problem wiping out treasures, shrines, sea forts, skeleton camps or skeleton forts. It's the problem that if they start firing Literally 90 cannonballs a second, there's nothing you can do, especially if you get one balled and crash into the island in addition to all the damage caused by them.

  • @potatosord Try getting one balled and sent to the ferry of the damned while your ship crashes into the skeleton fort and the skeletons just annihilate your ship.

  • @capt-greldik I sail straight every single time, the game puts you like far away from the skeleton fort for some reason which means the cannon skeletons can use their aimbot to one ball you, break your anchor mask and then start destroying your ship itself.

    Thanks for advice, however, I do believe Rare should do something at least about these skeletons. They are like how broken the eye of reach skeletons were.

    Like I said, if your doing a Fort, get close enough raise sails half, and stay below deck and repair until you hear a Crash. Run up and drop anchor. By then the cannons have stopped and all is left is repair.

    Ok so were taking about Dives/Raids. Reason it spawns far away...because you dont wanna spawn right on top and quickly smash into the island every time... PLUS the whole cannon defense is part of taking the Fort.

    They have, many times. They use to shoot more, continue to spawn even while your on the island. At this point, its all "Player issue" nothing more.

  • @burnbacon Your playing all my reasons off. What I'm saying is that I'd rather spawn right on top of the island than have to deal with aimbot skeletons, I don't feel as if they nerfed them enough.

    Also, absolutely overdramatized number of cannons fired. I regularly do Skelly Forts, and they shoot 5-6 cannons in a 2-3 second interval. Not even close to 90 lol, and there is no bug at all.

    So either trolling, or typical SoT forum emotionally-driven narrative.

    Sorry mate, but we first tried reasoning with you, providing both facts and advices. Since that failed, the only thing left to assume is either rage baiting or throwing tantrums due to connection issues.

    Because everything is in order at least with fort portion of the game.
