We encountered a group of players clearly cheating - walking across water, teleporting to islands, sailing faster than any other vessel, and completely unable to die. They were also using racial slurs. Since none of us were streaming or recording, we have no option to report this activity. The game desperately needs an in-game report feature.
Report Feature in-game, PLEASE.
It would be a good thing, but let me play devil's advocate.
Presumably it would take additional server capacity to record and store on demand periods of time that are flagged by players for evidence (can't just take action on report alone too open to abuse). But given that there are nefarious characters out there, is this record and use up memory function not also open to abuse I.e spamming for the sake of affecting server performance etc.
It's no simple thing.
The report function is already in game for the categories that can be done without evi I.e ship and pet name. You can even do others but will get prompt saying you still need to provide evidence.
In game reporting is a waste of time. They always ask for more evidence anyway regarding cheating/verbal abuse etc etc.
You should record all your gameplay, if you don't not much can be done. Then upload the video to Youtube or similar and submit a ticket here: https://support.seaofthieves.com/requests/new
I don't play any game online without recording.
@captdirtyoar Youtube is good unless whatever's being reported is against Youtube's terms of service as well [eg. Hate Speech]. then youtube can take it down, even if it's unlisted.
@ablepirate
Make it private. I have multiple reports still there. Also edit it to the core things. 5 Min is all you need. Microsoft has free edit software. It takes 10 min to make a 5 min vid.@ablepirate said in Report Feature in-game, PLEASE.:

I've reported many people being toxic, saying horrible things including cheaters. I have it on YouTube set to unlisted and submitted it to Rare. Never had them take it down yet.
