temporary ban

  • after a long absence for a year, I logged into the game through a Steam account and it told me that my account was temporarily blocked, I wrote to support and they sent me this message
    " Thanks for contacting Sea of Thieves support. We're sorry you experienced this issue, but we're thankful you brought this up to us.

    The account you are using is sharing a license with another account that has received a permanent ban.

    Individuals are not authorized to make new accounts if they have received a permanent ban. However, unlinking the accounts of other players, such as friends or family, from your machine and purchasing a new license for Sea of Thieves or an active Xbox Game Pass subscription should resolve your issue.

    Please note that, if your issue relates to sharing a license within a family, this feature is only intended for close family and friends in a single household. "

    However, I don't have any other accounts besides this one, and if I did, how can I unlink it

  • @i1yaner someone in my circle of crewmates recently had this happen and it turned out that wasn’t actually the case. After logging out of everything and logging back in they were able to play like normal. So we suspected it was just a licensing error that came about after the most recent update. That’s our best guess.

    My suggestion would be to check the account status in this link https://www.seaofthieves.com/account and see what it says as they recently introduced a new discipline system that shows much more information online. Then I would wait a few days, log out of everything and then log in again.

  • The problem is not even that mistakes happen, but that they are not acknowledged and there is no help from game representatives. There is no limit to disappointment

  • I am also having this issue. Multiple support requests have been put in and EPOCH support agent has continued to just close the tickets with clearly automated responses that completely miss the issue.

    The same bro.
    I can play, but they sure I can't.
    I like that so much, that support do not even trying to read the message , and to understand of what they are talked to. Just using scripted answers, and in the end when they understand they are useless, just giving you answer like 'We can not help with this issue'
    Quit this job then, if you cant help. There was no at least one ticket response, which was help me with any of my problems in this game. Im playing since the end of 2021 btw. Not a single time.

    This is why you should not share or let other people use your account etc. If that's what really happened, unless you were the cheater with the other account thinking you could get away with it.

    Too bad so sad in my opinion.

    I have seen it thousands of times in various game forums. I'm innocent and didn't do anything wrong, someone else played on my computer, someone used my account, my account got hacked etc etc. They banned you for a reason. Most hackers use alternative accounts and stuff like that so no pitty from me when it comes to people getting banned... They just ruin online gaming as a whole.

  • @i1yaner are you linked to another account using Microsoft family share though? That seems to be what they are saying happened. Your account is not necessarily shared, but you are in a group with another account that is banned. They mentioned that the license is shared, which means that two or more accounts are playing with the same game license (shared) and one of them is banned.

    I'm not familiar with how it works, but you might be able to find that info in your MS account details here: https://account.microsoft.com/family/home

    Were you trying to imply that this player is dishonest? It's too easy for a dishonest player to create a new account, they won't ask for help, it costs time, dishonest players will just make a new account. You are wrong. Plus, I don't share my license with anyone, I've never let anyone into my account, and conclusions like yours just show how old players are not valued. When the problem is not on my side, and there is no help.

    this is a problem on Rare's part, players who are mistakenly banned from the site can still log into the game without any problems

  • hen I play the game, it says Lina your accountt has been banned What is the reason for this problem and I did not do anything, I was just playing normally and turned off the game by pressing alt and f4, and this problem occurred to us when I logged in again.     I didn't do anything wrong. I just changed my account in "Restart," which allows me to play. That's why I got banned. Please unban me.
