RANT: Heratic Megalodon Behaviours

    Ahoy,

    Ive now nearly 400 hours of play on this game, and oh god that megalodon heratic behavirous irritate me so much, it take hours to be finaly able to see one and it's bugged as hell, last season they where just dummy for weeks and now once they start to attack they are just vanishing, just imagine the distress if someone see the shrouded and he just disapear out of thin air...

    Thoses bugs are really painfull and are a reason why i'm starting to consider a new game instead of SoT.
    Bug reports result on a "we will look at it" and every update is a new excuses video, i overlook insider forums and many things reported are pushed on live, do feedback, report and insider participation really do something or it's just and illusion to care?

    This is one that spawned on you or someone else?

    Typically won't despawn on you unless it's an area without a lot of wiggle room and they get bugged out by limited space.

    In season 8 they made it so other people's megs aren't aggressive towards players they didn't spawn on, which makes it pretty impossible to kill most of the time before it despawns.

    yeah it has cost people some shrouded ghost kills.

    @seleniumosmium Haha… hah… yeah. I’m that someone who had this happen with the shrouded ghost… I’ve got the clips to show for it, and support wouldnt even help me… 😭

    Hi there, i know how it's "should" work, so in the case causing me to rant, it spawned fo me, in the midle of the ocean, i anchored when the music started, he attacked the boat once, circle me, get hit, music of the attack played, magic, no more music of the encounter and no more meg.

    I rant because it's not the first time, this issue can happen since months.

    Sorry for your loss and you're sadly the perfect exemple of how this issue can affect nearly unique encounter (because you know increasing the chance is not planned it must be rare say the guy in the S14 explaination, once in a lifetime is not rare it's a miracle)

    That's why I think you triggered someone else's spawn.

    Literally everything I do in the game is built around hunting megs organically and I've never had one despawn quickly that spawned on me.

    Only if the timer runs out and they naturally despawn or if it's someone else's meg I sailed up on and it despawned after a minute or so.

    Maybe some regions have servers that cause more issues with the lag or something, I dunno, but I've never seen one despawn without it being one of the reasons listed above.

    I would be interested in seeing a clip of it if you have one or can create one in the future.

    My best guess going off a lot of experience,

    you sailed up on someone else's meg and it left you to go respawn on the person it originally spawned on (happens all the time)

    @wolfmanbush no one was there, i traveled for hours between the same 4 isles before triggering the meg, no one was near, even if it's the case it's still and issue you can't help or kill the meg spawned for another ship and stole the loot.

    That still an issue
