When will we be able to see other ship names again?

    I believe this is the 2nd or 3rd community weekend where I do hourglass and are not able to see the ship names of other crews. To be honest I actually think it's the 4th community weekend. This bug has been around for several months, I can't see that Rare has announced anything about acnkowledging the bug.

    The only time you can really see anyone's ship name is if they have been on the same server or if they have scuttled their ship to a new server. After I dive the ship name disappears from mine (diving both to quests and hourglass).

    Is this bug not reported at all and is this why it's not listed in known issues? I'm pretty sure I made a report weeks ago but got no response. It would be nice to know if they are working on it or even know about it.

    It’s a bug that tends to appear for awhile (weeks) and disappear later.
    Sometimes due to large amount of players diving or loading up loot in large amount.

    But as long my ship is still a captain ship, does it matter if the name disappears??

    I like it when it replaces your ship name with something else and it's actually a cool replacement.

    But yeah. It's sporadic, lots of people don't even notice it.

    From what I've seen, Diving seems to remove it (and the guild plate as well) about 50% of the time. It's another nasty bug that has SOMEHOW flown under the radar for a good while now. Honestly, the bug/cheat/hack/exploit nonsense has reached an utterly ridiculous level at this point. This is almost League of Legends level of spaghetti code (hilarious when you think about it since the two communities have a lot in common when it comes to attitude towards their fellow players) and it's utterly insane that more effort isn't being taken to deal with it.

    @burnbacon Yeah it matters, at least to me and I can ses other payers care too. Of course not everyone cares too much and that's ok. The name is supposed to show. Some players use ancient coins to change their name - and there's a big chance the name won't show most of the time. In HG a big part of the fun was to see who you where fighting too, recognizing names of ships you have fought before etc. It's a part of the fun in the game that's gone now (yes you can see the names from time to time but most of the time, I can't see the ship names and I have played SoT a lot this year).
