Today I was doing some hour glass and when I loaded into a match I somehow went into the shroud . I realized my opponent must have had the shroudbreaker and was camping there (the ship had the red effect that happens when you do the tall tale). Is this something where you can get banned for?

That was supposedly fixed to you could either not raise out there or people wouldn't find you defending out there. It was in one of the patch notes pretty soon after HG was introduced. (Because ppl were getting mad about being out played in a number of different ways)
If you clipped it, submit a report so they can investigate if it a cheat or a bug.
I doubt they were "just on the way to so the TT" but I'm more inclined to believe something just broke lol.
