My wife and I did not get emissary bonuses during golden hour or any emissary points

My wife and i was on a good start we have emissary 5 on merchants and figured we would ride it through golden hour it was working before golden hour fine. Then we started noticing that some chest showed the bonus and emissary points and some did not we figured it has to been from the lag on the servers. We decided to keep pressing on got up more loot and none of it had the bonus or emissary points so we just at this point turned in about 20 boxes and it's just the the normal amounts with golden hour. My wife suggested just turning in the emissary to see if it works after this as we only had 10 minutes left in golden hour. Well we get a new merchant emissary set out and get attacked by a skeleton ship sink it grab everything and turn around to sell it and what do you know? Now it works again. We easily lost 100k+ on the points as we like to try to knock out our leaderboard stuff asap so we can play the factions we like more and this is disappointing to say the very least. So i don't know if it's a golden hour bug or just a emissary bug. However this is kind of not a small thing. Anyone else have this happen today?
