  • @archerrae bro, you can litterally visit a sea fort to get one, or a shrine with the diving mechanics, it always gives one trasure chest, or visit an island where a cinder captain is...litterally you can do the speedrun to get one of them

  • @archerrae raid dive a Seafort, cancel, there will usually be one and you don't even have to do the whole sea fort. Or, do the raid since there is one included in the loot.

  • That's not the point. If a pirate wants to purchase a collector's chest, what harm does it do? Doesn't matter how easy it is. Want a storage crate? Captains can drop orders to dig one up or go find a skeleton ship. Oh wait, we can buy them. Go find a cannon ball crate or a wood crate. Oh wait, we can buy them.

Just because something is possible to find doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to buy it. I don't buy storage crates because I'd rather go find one on an island or from a skeleton ship. Doesn't mean I don't think others should be able to buy them...

  • @lordqulex

Alternatively they have a quick and easy option already.

  • to make collecting trinkets not a pain.

Almost every raid grants you a treasure chest.

If a pirate wants to purchase a collector's chest, what harm does it do

Harm is, like SS you give them a carrot they are gonna want more. Unless they make a new chest which you can not sell, that why they are called treasure chests.

  • @pithyrumble

There's a quick and easy way to get storage crates and cannonball crates as well. 🤷‍♂️

  • Did you mean all treasure chests or a specific one or?
I mean isn't it part of the main gameplay searching and finding treasure chests? If you can just purchase them then whats the purpose?
Like saying hey can you put some roads between islands so i can drive, because i don't like sailing.

  • @eva1977 They're referring the chests that open and can contain 3 small items (commonly known as "scoops")

  • @knurd9369 Fair enough even though they are probably one of the most common items in the game. I think the castaway chest is harder to find now.

  • @archerrae I've been say8ng this for seasons now and people think " just go to a sea fort " is the solution it isn't when in reality we should be able to buy empty chest as well as rowboats from shipwright amd before people say " just attach one before you leve game " that's inconvenient I'm paying the shipwright a person who makes ships for convenience

  • @lordqulex exactly we can search the seas for what we want or pay for the convenience of getting it right away at the outpost

  • Let's buy Curseballs and Wraithballs too eh?

Even tho you can get them free by playing.

None of the supplies should have ever been for sale, but if you're using the "well we can buy this x supply since we can buy y supply", argument let's buy them all.

  • This mattered from a risk/reward perspective early on

    Doesn't really shift anything anymore

QoL and convenience took over long ago, in the beginning for the worse and now it's by far for the best as they have done wonders for repairing their risk/reward in the game for the newer generations of pirates.

Go for it, won't cause any significant harm in current SoT.

Until veteran players find some bizarre exploit that it causes and cheese the heck out of the game until it gets patched lol

  • Oh. Forgot chainshots lol. Buy those too.

Power is quite a bit different.

Making selling more pleasant in current SoT can help incentivize actually moving and selling the loot rather than experienced players leaving a bunch of loot because they don't need the gold enough to do something they don't really enjoy doing.

It's not "necessary" but it's also not gonna harm anything at this point. It's also fine to just do what they've done and have one at a seafort and one in forts.

  • How about sellable regular storage crates too?

I hate to just chuck empty ones into the ocean. Doesn’t feel good doing it but the more stuff you have on your ship the longer it takes to load back from the ferry.

  • Wow didn't know how spicy of a topic this would become hahaha. Original idea was purely for the convenience. Like everyone has said you can defiantly get find ways to get a treasure chest but I am at the stage of sea of thieves where I have a lot of money and not alot of places left to use it. At the moment only time my money gets used is for supps.

I also agree would most likely need to be a special kind of treasure chest so can't sell for money, or make is more expensive then you can sell it for or something like that.
