Reapers Hideout upgrade

  • I recently made a post about the reaper's excavation programm in the lore section of the forum, where I explain why I believe the Reaper's Hideout needs an upgrade. The main theme would be turning it into kind of a factory. And before some of you say that this is too advanced for the SOT world, check the images of 1700's factories, u'd be surprised.

    1. Above ground:
The main hideout would be surrounded by stone walls with canons, similar to Golden Sands but with a darker colour of stone. The walls would be patrolled by Reaper NPC's, that would not actually engage in a fight in any manner. The canal between two isles will be surrounded by walls with gates that could be opened and closed (think of sea fort gates but bigger). Inside of it would be a dock, with harpoons and movable platforms to unload the loot and take it into the main building. The main building will be converted to stove as well, with the overall inside layout being unchanged, apart from potentially engravings of scenes from Flameheart's life on the walls, and a bone-made throne on which the Servant will reside. Behind the servant will be two doors. One of which will lead to a large armoury, with rows of weapons, ammo and food crates and all the supplies we handed to him. In the back of the armoury there will be another door, leading into the backyard. The other door will lead to training hall, where new pirates would be turned into Reapers. We would find a pirate getting a tattoo of a burning heart on his arm, while others sword fight with each other, or learn skeleton runes. Behind that hall would be the sleeping rooms with a 4-stove cooking spot in the next room. The backyard will have a shooting range, with reapers firing at targets from pistols and snipers. A large area would be excavated and turned into a shipyard, where skeleton ships would be getting repaired, as well as the fully repaired Burning Blade will reside. At the far right, skeleton shipwright would reside close to a wall, offering special ship cosmetics for certain reaper commedations. To the left a row of shops will be located, also offering unique clothing and weapons for commedations. You would not be able to access these cosmetics anywhere else.
The other isle will have a large stone lighthouse, with two smaller bastions at the edges of the walls. At the entrance to the lighthouse we could see a large skeleton reaper guarding the door, who would tell us, that we cannot go inside. Upon closer inspection from the outside we would see that the light in the lighthouse is blocked by iron shutters, with raging flames getting out of them every few seconds.

    2. Below ground:
I have very little suggestions to the changes at the Reaper's underground area, except for adding a new territory behind the chained up door next to the bar. Behind it would be a moving platform with a pressure plate in the middle, that would take us across a canal of lava. At the other side will be stairs, leading to the lighthouse and area below it. The large portion of the isle has been excavated, providing a space for Reapers to forge their weapons and masks of the the metal they are digging from below the hideout. We would see the ores being transported here in mining carts and smelted, to then be taken out and forged an item out of. Pipes with tree juices will be delivering it to the area, where it will be bottled up by reaper phantoms and packed into containers. And most importantly, we will be able to discover the cause of the ragged flames at the top of lighthouse - Reapers were using red crystals to create portals to other territories, similar to those at the entrance to Athena's Hideout. Right below the lighthouse, a massive arc of the ancients (the kind of simple archways we can find in open world, that were speculated to be portals) would be located. It will be covered with glowing red runes, and imbued with red crystals. Reaper phantoms would be walking in and out of it, carrying crates filled with viles of something yellow. The juices of the tree, to be exact.

    3. Sea Dogs Tavern:
Upon walking into the portal we will find ourselves inside of the Sea Dogs tavern, now turned into a Reaper Outpost, where a familiar skeleton character will be making her experiments. Red Ruth, one of Flameheart's Ashen Lords will be working on a tree juice-based modifications. We will find a whole chemical station with the juices being processed and attempted to be turned into red crystals. In cages we will see captured Athena pirates than were injected with the juice. Some will have golden glowing eyes and veins, while others will seem to be obsessed with the red crystal, staring at it through the bars. Multiple skeletons will be laying there, with crystals protruding from their bones. One of the skeletons captains will be an exceptionally successful speciment, with him being only a little smaller than the Ashen Lord, and seemingly higher intelligence, due to us being able to speak with him. And in a vat full of the juices a warrior of the ancients will reside, his fate unknown, but also being experimented on.

    4. I believe these changed not only to be captivating visually, but also bring more life to the faction's headquarters, making it truly a unique place thats a must to be visited. It would reflect Reaper's preparations, show players that they are a real threat, and that with their leader's return they are willing to take over the seas. They are developing teleportation technology, as well as working on making stronger skeletons, and have unknown plans for the ancient warrior. If this wont make Athena tremble, I dont know what will.

  • bring more life to the faction's headquarters

From my understanding. They don’t care how they go about. The whole SoT is there for the taking. Everything belongs to them. Life it self

Building up a stronghold is beneath them. (Literally). They don’t need such fancy walls. Only cowards need them

  • I'll take some harpoons. Not sure about rest although I do look forward to seeing what comes of the tunnelling and excavation seen within the lair where you get the curse.

A change in aesthetic would be good but it still needs to be an open area to allow people to contest selling etc
