Changing the work of the doors

  • I propose to make the opportunity to close and open the doors in the captain’s cabin on Galleon ship. If the door is closed, the enemies will not be able to open it, and they will need to undermine or set fire to the door. Well, or just add it to look aesthetically aesthetic

  • I doubt they'll ever do this because it would give the galleon a bonus that is not available on any other ship, and also making moving doors with collision in games can be difficult. You'll notice that when they made the sloop latches closable that they removed player collision from them, so you can no longer stand on top of them when they are open and you'll pass right through them. This would obviously be a problem with a door that is supposed to stop players.

Doors in DayZ used to outright murder players if opened and you weren't in just the right spot.

  • Very good concept. I see no reason for there to be openable doors. However, the ability to lock out enemies is another story. If they can find a rational way for enemies to get in, it should be fine. It shouldn’t be impossible or overly difficult. Perhaps a blunder bomb or a key hidden on the ship.

The ability to lock one’s self in a room would be balanced by the drawback that enemies are able to destroy the whole ship without opposition or even take control of it. Someone might be able to hide themselves in a safe room, but they can’t keep their boat safe simultaneously. Seems fair and balanced to me.

  • open the doors in the captain’s cabin on Galleon ship

Not fair to the other ships to have this feature.

If the door is closed, the enemies will not be able to open it, and they will need to undermine or set fire to the door.

Again, not fair for other ships

  • Sounds cool, if only there was a way to add something similar to all ships, not just to the galleon. I'd love to see boarding expanded in some way. Like give boarders some small "objectives" on the ships and make defense more strategic. I don't know, something like sabotaging the stove or knocking down barrels inside the ship to limit movement. Something more than just boarders spawn camping until the ship sinks.

  • Yes. There could be a key in the Captain's Cabin and a key somewhere hidden on the boat (the captain can choose where). The captain will also have a spare on their belt or in their pocket at all times if they're locked out.
