Game Makes Me Want To Puke LITERALLY!!! Help!

  • I have over 1000 hours in SoT. I am an avid gamer. After the last update I started having extreme reactions to SoT while playing. It gave me a headache and made me want to puke, literally. I have played a lot of other games without this sensation. It is only after the most recent update that playing SoT makes me feel really ill.

I have no idea what to do or if they changed something in the video settings. I just don't know, but I can't play it for more than 5 minutes without having adverse reactions anymore.

Again this is odd b/c I have over 1000 super fun filled hours in SoT. It inly started happening after the update.

  • @hight3chr3dn3ck Ahoy matey!

If you are playing on PC it could be an FPS issue... are you getting a steady frame rate?

  • If it was that sudden. See a doctor

If I had a friend experiencing similar to what the op describes and settings weren't off it's what I would encourage if it was a realistic option. Eye or general professional.

Never hurts to get checked up on when something is suddenly off.

  • I am but again, it is only for this game. No other games are effected.

  • @hight3chr3dn3ck Minimize possibilities, turn off the blur that is coming from the ghostly visuals.
Experiment with your graphics, lower graphics might be better or even lower mouse sensitivity.

Having no issue with it before is irrelevant, the game didnt changed. Its something in you and you need to try to detect what is causing it.

Not for convenience sake, for your health. Try to detect the specific effect first.

  • I know people in friends and family having similar reactions while playing any kind of video game, its especially bad in SoT because of the horizon / ship moving and rocking along the waves. Some people show some sign of sea sickness. I know only one person who got kinda used to it but still cant play longer than 30 minutes before its getting too bad.

I know that Raft has an option to toggle on "seasick mode" that removes waves entirely. It looks like the calm waves around islands in SoT. That works wonders for those people.

Would be a cool accessibility feature but very hard to implement. It would also give a big unfair advantage when it comes to aiming cannon vs cannons when one ship does not see or feel any waves. Island waves are powerful and easy to abuse when in PvP and thats has been a known thing in the competitive community.

Might be a solution for people getting motion / seasick from SOT though.

  • I don't know if it's the same weakness, but i play tree times to WoW and i puke tree times so i uninstall the game ... I guess some people have problem with some games (like a brain trick)
