Me and my friend were talking about a Hunter's call update, so we thought we would give it a shot. Here's our idea, Rare adds Nets to the back of boats, (they would cost gold, or get it from a quest, OR get it from being a certain level in Hunter's call) these would gradually catch fish as you sail. another idea we had, was to add fishing maps, (they would be from elder fishermen) they would have specific fish or trophy fish. this is all we have so far, so we might add more to this, This idea is also not fully complete.

Nets won't happen - if you want fish, you have to work for it. As for fishing maps, they were already (albeit temporarily) a thing.
@galactic-geek Ok, thanks for your feedback, And we may add things to this. but I think that the nets would be cool because the thing about fishing is that it takes LONG just to catch ONE fish. And going for max commendations is around 2500 fish, so if I were to take say 45 seconds to catch a fish it would take at least 31 hours to do it excluding the chances to get a certain fish. So I think that this would be a hand held thing that could catch a few fish like 2-3 fish (it would NOT be able to catch trophy fish.)

If you know what you are doing,you should be able to catch any standard fish in about 30s.
I think the best HC additions they could make are... voyages!

One type would be a simple 'contract' voyage. These would work like Merchant ones, but request fish and meat. When handed in will give even more reputation than normal

Another more slightly interesting idea would be Monster Hunt missions, you would be directed to a map square to hunt a Meg or Kraken. They would be weaker than regular ones and would only drop meat as opposed to loot. They would offer no emissary progress
The other idea would be an emissary system. You can raise the level by catching, killing and cooking along with picking up mermaid gems. Then you would get the bonus hand ins.
Idk, I just thought these could make the faction a little bit more fun..?

You could buy an x-mark kinda map. It has a couple of pieces to it. One part leads you to a fishing spot. The other leads you to a fishing GPB. Drop it at the fishing spot. Kaboom. Up to 10 fish at the most ridiculous, but less than 5 usually. Rarity and type based on current rng/locations
I didn't like those "fishing voyages" we had...I don’t want to be told where to fish...but I like this "fishing gpb" idea...
