  • If it helps people out with accessibility it's worth the cheese

outside of accessibility I think it's goofy for a game like this and am not into it

  • It a silly thing.
But glad we can turn it off.

  • I'll probably turn it off eventually... once i'm done doing all the fishing things where i need to hunt one particular fish.

For rn though, it's rather nice and saves me some bait.

  • i was happely suprized at first , but after a while the fun was gone , from the moment i find out where i can switch it off , i will disable it... Not to be ungrateful , but it takes a bit of the "suprize " away of what you catch...

  • Since it's something you can turn on and off, there's really no reason to be against it. More options in a game are always a better thing in my opinion.

Plus, I always cast close to my position, so 80% of the time I could see what fish I was catching anyway.

Yep, this exactly. It really doesn't fit with anything they've done in the rest of the game (save some named bosses, etc)

I think for accessibility it's good and important. But if you're using it to min/max your fishing time, then you are cheesing it :(

See, this is the problem with it :) It causes deviant player behavior to work around the system as intended.

    But for accessibility it's great.

It just is what it is.

    Agree to disagree.

Honestly, it's fishing and no one should really give a feces about whether anyone is cheesing it.

It still provides very little in the way of money and still takes an absurd amount of time to do.

And it's not like i couldn't just look through the water and figure out what kind of fish it is based on the color, this just makes it easier.

  • I think it's fine, not cheesing, just helpful for the colours you can't see.
Do you catch and reel in every ruby splashtail? No? Then you are cheesing the system 😉

    Is that a challenge?

Anyways, I just hope there's a way to turn it off. Then I'm good.

Opposition to it has nothing to do with money; and as absurd an amount of time as it takes now, it used to be much more absurd.

With Arena gone, I was actually looking forward to grinding Hunters Call commendations, because it was the last real grind left in the game. Then I found out about the nameplates lol. I'm still going to work on it, but I do regret not finishing back before it was nerfed.

When things get nerfed, they lose value and prestige.
