Frame drops after being in game for about 15 minutes, ever since latest 2 updates

Ever since the Haunted Shores and Ashen Winds updates, I've noticed my game being very unstable on any setting (low-medium-high, or a mix of these). I've noticed that after I've played for about 10-15 minutes, the frame rate (which I've capped to 60) will dip constantly to about 20 and then will go back up again very quickly. This happens constantly, the dip lasts half a second, but the frame drops happen every 2-3 seconds. Also, it doesn't seem to depend on how much action is going on in game, as it happens at any time, anywhere. My GPU spikes to almost constant 100% usage (normally it is much less, in the 30-40s), and when I open Task Manager - Performance, the "3D" table seems under constant stress at 100%.

    (I have an Acer Nitro 5 laptop - CPU: i7 9750h - GPU: 1660ti 6gb ram - 16gb ram - 1TB SSD, if it helps)

I can't say to have ever seen this behaviour before...The game has become almost unplayable and the only way to "fix" it (aka. be able to play) is to sacrifice the quality of my gaming experience and to set the frame rate cap at 30.

Is this a known problem? Is anyone else experiencing it?
