I'm prefacing this by saying I'm not one of those PvE server players who always want to PvE and think PvP should be outlawed. I love PvP despite being pretty bad at it. But regardless of skill, there's one method of PvP that takes none and is a cheap way of killing people.
I and my friends were all on a Galleon, looting Devil's Ridge when a sloop sneaks up. We don't think much of it and just wait for it to pass by, but one dude jumps out. My friend goes to kill him but he double-guns (blunder and eye of reach) in the water, killing him instantly. He climbs aboard, where I go in to get him with a cutlass but he blunders me back. During this time with a blunder, you fly back and have no way of using your weapons. This allows the double-gunner to finish you off with his second gun. So now two are down, the other anchors and comes up. We spend the next several minutes trying to get the guy off our boat until he shoots everyone, nukes it with a gunpowder, and leaves. How a single guy can wipe out basically an entire boat by just alternating guns is too much. I suggest having the cutlass as an item you cannot get out of your inventory. You can change it to different skins, but you can only hold one firearm alongside it.
This isn't because I just find it bad to me.
It's just too OP and so damn cheap! Like honestly, it ruins the PvP aspects and makes me want to convert into one of these 'Sea of Sailors', 'Don't kill me' and 'PvE only server' people!
Tired of double-gunning.
@exolinity I get it. I'm a guy who can't spend hours a day developing the skills of becoming a pvp master, but I love the game, and even the ship battles. But I now have 3 friends who no longer play because we've spent 2 hours doing a quest, most recently an athena's quest only to spend another hour being chased down, killed and sunk.
There's got to be some kind of middle ground for the less troll-y players of the community. Until then, I guess it's unofficial alliance servers or joining my friends in uninstalling.
