So I was wrapping up my commendations for the Smuggler's league and remembered why I never bothered finishing them in the first place; it's an incredibly boring loop. It got me thinking of the olden days of voyaging in SOT.
Why do the Smuggler's Routes need to be just one route for that timeframe? It's literally just A to B, then B to A, then A to B, then B to A. There's no real exploration or voyaging.
So my idea is to make them a multi-chapter voyage including more of (or all of) the turn-in spots, and then have the final route be the BIG payoff.
Chapter 1 might take you from Plunder Valley to Crescent. Chapter 2 might take you from Crescent to Smuggler's Bay. Chapter 3 might take you from Smuggler's Bay to Old Faithful. Then the final chapter would be incredibly lucrative and be whatever the current map-labeled golden route is.
It's still not the most exciting gameplay, but at least it gets you engaged with more of the map like the old days of voyaging.
