Gun balancing and ship ammo crates

  • The knock back from blunderbuss is insane, I feel it needs nerfed slightly. Increase the damage and reduce the knock back?

I think the ammo crate on other player's ships should be locked to enemy players to balance close quarters PvP.

Something should be done with the double flintlock pistol, I'm not sure what but something. I feel like a charged shot should be a one shot kill. The wind up takes a sec but the pay off of landing a shot with it isn't worth it for the wait time.

    Just my opinion.

Are you asking because your on the other end of it?
Meanwhile, we defenders of the ladder love the knockback as it makes them try different tactics :P

We already locked them out of using our weapons, why not lock the ammo? :D

No game..should ever have an OSK

  • Since the blunderbuss is ment to be a defensive weapon, Rare has two options to deal with your request.
Either keep the knockback, or make the blunderbuss deal 100 damage.
Otherwise it will be to weak for defending.

Locking the ammo box, would be a terrible decision in my opinion.
It would make the "infinite ammo" advantage of the sword even greater and force players to use it on every board, or suffer under a unnecessary disadvantage.
How would this balance close quarters PvP?
    This just makes it unbalanced.

First of all, locking the other crew's ammo literally makes boarding worthless since you would have no choice but to die after at most 5 kills with sniper pistol.

Second, DB being one shot sounds horrible, it already does 90, and the only reason blunder was 100 was because of it having to go half an inch from their skull to actually connect all 10 pellets. With that og one blunder should be brought back, because you can just ladder juke away when boarding.
(current blunder literally sends people into the abyss if you hit one pellet from half a mile away)

Dont waste your shots, do what needs to be done as you board (steal stuff) and make way back your ship/reload OR bring Ammo crate.
It's called breaking the meta and doing something else, which needs to happen.

Boarding shouldnt be about spawn camping, you board and remove any threats, take what needs or cause damage to ship and get back to your ship.

  • If the ammo crate remains an infinite source then it literally forces everyone to only use guns to be able to compete in PvP which makes the other weapon choices redundant. I would like to see things change in this regard. Variety is the spice of life! 😉

Spawn camping is a thing and infinite ammo allows for this to happen with ease too.

Using the blunderbuss as an offensive weapon works very well but the knock back is insane. you can blunder boarders off of ladders using blunder bombs anyway.
