So what if the dark brethren were added as an official faction? (smugglers ain't no faction, just one dumb voyage that is really boring) Reuse seadogs and make it a DB fort. Now you all are probably thinking, "oh, but they'd always be fighting SotF" EXACTLY!!! Make special forts and events for DB, like phantom strongholds (kinda like the dark fortress) Dark brethren fort (Reverse of reaper fort) and special quests like sinking flamehearts navy and blowing up the BB. Also maybe a Dark Brethren fleet and Flying Dutchman fights. New emissary, and some new loot. Add more dark brethren and SotF fights (Yeah, they at war with Athena's fortune, but there are ZERO non event and hourglass wars. LAME. The two evil and awesome factions bent on killing eachother? EPIC)

You kinda had me, until this line LOL. C'mon, you're not new to the forums, you've seen the posts here that the mods have a counter for (which I won't bring up) and have to lock for obvious reasons. I mean, sure, I'd love for Gold'N Glory to be 6 months long too, but just because everyone votes yes doesn't mean it's good for the game.
Also, your comment is a bit disingenuous with Minecraft. There's a vast difference between, "Players, do you want us to work on A, B, C, or D?" versus a bunch of players crowdsourcing their own ideas and demanding they be added. Currently, the players asked the Minecraft developers (with 500,000 signatures) to please stop doing this annual vote since it was causing so many problems. So no, Rare doesn't have to take any pages from anyone lol.
the problem with allowing the community to vote on content would mean they would need to exclude things from the pool because they know what people are going to vote on
should we bring back arena? 20.5 million votes
should we add pve servers? 15 million votes
should we add the ability to save favorite outfit sets? 1 billion votes
should we remove merchant cargo and animal voyages from the game? 40 million votesall these are things they would not want to do
@BurnBacon Well I understand people didn't like the hunter's call emissary (literally just fish and meat... BORING) and I don't want a smuggler's emissary. I hate smugglers. I want a new unrelated (loot wise) loot junkie faction that takes everything and has new awesome events
