New Instruments/Large Instruments (Davy Jones's Organ) on Ships?

  • Im not exactly sure how it would work on a moving ship but having something like davy Jone's organ like the one in a pirates life to play on my own Flying Dutchman would be great, and it would open the door to newer large instruments to play during long Voyages (IE. Cello, larger Drums) Maybe Even some Smaller instruments like trumpets or horns. it would be interesting to see.

  • Anybody else got ideas on what they could add for different instruments?

  • its been a bit since i came back to this post but what About Violins? not exactly common for Pirates but may fit with the merchant vibe a bit? for smaller Instruments anway. not as many options with larger instruments. i just want more focus on QOL and fun than PVP lowkey (Still love the Burning Blade tho)

  • i notice this is getting a decent chunk of views so i really wish yall would give your input here in the replies to keep a conversation going around these ideas, it could be really cool Yk but the idea wont really get anywhere without people interacting with the post, even if its just to toss out an idea for a different instrument or a skin that would fit

The Fiddle has already been "shown off" in the Monkey Island Tall Tale. Also outside of the thread with people asking for the music box, I dunno if you're gonna get much for bigger instruments like Davy Jones' organ. While it would certainly be super cool... where would you put it? For something specific like what you're asking, I think we'd need true ship customization or something similar which would be a pretty big ask. Rearranging your own ship seems massive, and I dunno if this game's engine could handle that without freaking out.

  • @xdreegan you make a fair point but what if we could replace the quest table on a Galleon? still allowing quests to be placed from the side but playable during longer trips, only idea id Have outside of that system that couldnt be put into place

  • @peakdragon199 That goes back to what I said about having a lot more freedom in the layout of our ship. Something I'm in favor of, but I believe would require a lot more feasible content besides an organ to justify.

  • @xdreegan yeah, maybe new decor for the Interior of ships? what could be added though

  • @peakdragon199 I don't know. I don't even know what's feasible for them and what's not. As far as I'm aware there hasn't been any official communication from Rare about what they can or cannot do, so when it comes to making suggestions or delivering them good feedback, I got nothing xD

Like your organ idea, for example. I love it. But..
Would it be good if ONLY the Galleon had access to it? Even if it would make sense?
Shouldn't every ship have access to it?
If they do, what could they remove to make it fit, or how would you rearrange it so you keep the Organ, but also don't get rid of something you'd prefer to have on your ship.
Would all that work for implementing further customization be a good idea for big instruments, or should there be some larger goal at play to make the mechanic useful to more than just the musically inclined pirates?
Would pirates accidentally (or intentionally) be able to make their ships more durable? Would you accidentally be sealing yourself off from a part of your ship that would make it near impossible to repair?

It's a whole lot more to think about, and I'd put money on I'm not even asking half of the right questions there.

Having a large organ to play on the ship (no idea where'd they put it for starters), would probably create an avenue for trolling. Besides, my crew is too busy getting supplies, cooking, organizing, looking at the map, watching horizon, being prepared for anything and making good use of our downtime, but that's just us.
