I'm disappointed with everything you're allowing players to do, it's really bad.

  • I've been trying to bring new friends to Sea of Thieves for months
and I've had a sour taste in my mouth for months for everything that's happening.
I joined the game about 15 minutes ago and in these 15 minutes I've sunk first because of players who, at a distance of hundreds of meters without even shooting each other with the cannon, teleport, or still use funny shooting, but it's almost certainly teleportation unless his ship had a cannon on the bow, so we sink.
Despite this I question our skills as PVP players and so I tell my teammate to do Hourglass, we buy and restock ourselves in time to prepare the ship, we dive and while we come up from the water the megalodon shell bot is already on our boat, the megalodon makes 2 attacks on us, 14 holes more or less and the enemy player shoots us, 50 seconds and our adventure was already over.
I wonder how a player who has suffered all this .........can still keep the game open?
You have to do hardware Ban to those who cheat otherwise it is useless that at every patch or every season you come on youtube to tell us the stupid think

You say they’re “allowing” them to do this??? 🤔🤔

  • wonder how a player who has suffered all this .........can still keep the game open

Because some of us know what to expect and enjoy the adventure and little things. And we don’t go to Reddit, discord or forums to make a complaint about it.

Sometimes our complaint is part of the general gameplay, what meant to happen. (Tho the teleporting but no evidence is troublesome)

You didn’t say if you done anything else. Just 15min? And you decide to do hourglass. And that was the end?
You got safer seas. You got many treasures and places to explore. But here I just a small thing

  • @burnbacon
    do you want proof?
it didn't enter a cannon, it didn't have the angle to launch itself, it was too far away, it was on the bow, there was no launch because it didn't make any shooting sounds and I reached the point where I was to distance myself from it, I only heard one who was in the water and swimming.
he swam to the other side in a matter of seconds as if he were Ian James Thorpe
The funny launch bug has been fixed.
so there's only one option left, guess which one?
so you say that people should play in single mode because there are too many cheaters or because you are not good at playing?
I ask you a question does the Game with bots improve you in multiplayer?
or are you one of those who learn to play multiplayer by dying continuously?
I am one of those who challenge themselves to improve and therefore challenge other players
If it were up to you this game would not make sense to make it multiplayer, the important thing is to explore and get treasures, but then a player arrives how will you be able to keep those treasures?
but then explain to me what 2 sloops and a brigantine do in hourglass?
or what does a megalondonte do in hourglass?
is it a bug or is it a cheat?
the complaints? complaints are useless when they are things that are not important.
useful complaints are those when you see critical issues in the game, or people doing very strange things.
In any case, I paid for the game and I have the sacrosanct right to complain and you are not a blessed bean of anyone to tell me what I should or should not.

  • @blackpacoxxi while the first instance surely can be cheats what is more likely is that they where ladder launching which is a movement exploit which is also being worked on right now to get rid off

The meg being there in the fight is random, hourglass takes place in regular adventure and thus the regular adventure dangers are there at all times

As is being third partied by other ships in a fight

  • They dont let people do any of this, they have been working hard to try and deal with this, but at the end of the day dealing with cheaters is not a simple "just turn on solution A or B and all is good" fix, if it was that simple, there would never be cheaters in any games, but thats just not the case.

Only way this is gonna work out is if you get to a point with cheating where it doesn't become a fallen tree on your path in the game.

Stuff happens, worst day of gaming still isn't that bad of a day.

Perspective and mindset are everything in an adventure. It either gets worse or better with friends depending on how people approach it.

We've all heard/seen people lose their cool over game stuff, make it less fun, make it awkward and/or unhealthy between the crew. That could easily be any of us, if it's not already.

Cheating happens, losing happens, winning happens, annoying stuff happens, unpleasant stuff happens. Never that big of a deal in a videogame. Unless people decide to let it become that fallen tree.

Life is tough but games are easy. Stick to that and a group of friends can have fun through random stuff that happens.

Whenever you see someone in SoT that is chill and just enjoying the game, they go through stuff too, they see stuff too, they are facing things too. They are just making a choice to make the best out of it. Anyone can make that choice.

it's a bit difficult to follow your speech, but in general I play for fun, I have always put cheating in the context of the game, I know that beating cheating is difficult today, but in every fps or game I actually live the player who cheats as a higher challenge for me to improve, I know that there are cheaters in all games.
But then I see that companies no longer have the objective of eliminating cheating, rather they give them other possibilities, I come from an era in which a cheater has A HARDWARE BAN and that's how they must continue to be.
    for example you CHEAT?
Hardwareban buy another game key and buy another gaming machine, You must not allow the cheater to spend money only for cheating, since he loves spending money o, you might as well make him buy a new game and a new PC/Console.

  • @blackpacoxxi thing is even hardware bans can be circumvented, its easier then you might think.

It must be said that currently it is still laughably easy to get going again after you get banned in sot since you can make a new account within seconds. They are working on making this harder but thats all we know so far.

Also cheat developers will always try to find ways to circumvent anything the game developers try and trow at them simply because they have a financial incentive to do so.

Cheat developers make quite a substantial amount of money by working on this and in contrast to the game developers they usually dont have a large business to run so it directly goes into their pockets.

This right here is what my speech was about.

For you it's hardware bans, for others it was anti-cheat, for others it's lawsuits, for others it was restrictions in the game.

People take one of the most complex things in gaming and then they try to box it in with a simple "solution". Then the frustrations of Rare not doing (or succeeding in) what a person sees as the solutions makes their experience worse.

That's what is leading you to be "disappointed" and viewing it as Rare "allowing" this to happen.

We don't have the solution to cheating, we only have opinions/ideas and preferences. As long as we are online gaming we will always be in a situation where people get around enforcement and achieve their objective.

You are making this more difficult on yourself in the long run. Many people do. It leads to more burnout and it leads to groups in the community enabling each other into thinking they have the solutions. They don't. We don't. It's always gonna be a part of the experience, it's not worth letting it become something more.
