My ship is closed crew because Im waiting on one more friend joining us but twice the game has put someone in that we dont know. One started shooting us and our allience crew who were on our ship whilst we were doing fort runs. Had to put them in the brig cause we cant kick players. Is there a time limit for people joining closed crews if a space is empty for a while? We now cant get our 4th crew member in because we have a random.
Closed Crew Ship Issue
Make a support ticket and make sure no one is inviting anyone. I play solo all the time, closed crew. I've never had it happen to me sailing several hours in a session sometimes, there's no time limit on a closed crew.
What is happening is when you have a closed crew up anyone on your friend list, or your friend's friend list can join your game depending on how your xbox live set up.
Probably one of your friends or some random person is trolling you guys. Someone you guys killed and they friended you and one of you accepted, or one of you got a random friend invite and accepted it.
Players not on your friend list can't join your game without an invite. If they are on your friend list they can join without an invite.
@pithyrumble we spoke to everyone and checked everyones friends lists and no one knew these people.
Seemed to be on the 45 minute mark someone would spawn in. The second guy actually spoke and said that he clicked “join open crew”.
All our settings said the crew was closed and set to friends friends only.They could have been "show as offline". Probably forgot to check offline players or you could have, BY accident, set up an open crew game without realizing it.
Trust me something is going on with someones friend list or you guys messed up by making the crew. There is no way for a random person to join your crew without being on your friend list or an invite.
SIDE NOTE If the person on your friend list is "offline" they can still join your game, but since they are offline you can't seem them unless you check the players offline.
I'll take your word for it but you are the only person I have ever heard that has had this happen. If players were having random people show up in their crew it would have been a huge issue that people would have been screaming about.
I wouldn't take the word of someone trolling your crew that he clicked "join open crew". I would take a screen shot of the players next time and really LOOK at the friend list of your party members. Unless they were REAL friends not some random players you picked up with LFG then maybe, but if this was a group from LFG or discord, you got played.
Who knows though, maybe it did happen but if this was an actual thing then we would have either heard about it already or this is something completely new which I doubt since the update has been up for a few days and no one else has posted this.
I could be wrong but I don't think I am. Just to be safe I guess open a ticket and report the bug.
