Mercenary Set - Friends Play Free

@tenebreate Mercenary/ebon pistol skin is literally the only cosmetic that I care about getting in this game. Pretty salty I didn't get it. I can't imagine how they thought this was ok.

Not to mention it ya been over 5 months since they had the Spinal Figurehead presented at NYC con and have yet to put it in the game after many of the Devs confirmed it and things like it would be available inside the game for gold after 60 days or so. Curious if that is coming anytime soon.

I agree I can’t believe they didn’t give the players that’s been Playing from the beginning if they would buy the game it would most likely be because of us giving them the trial codes if they didn’t start playing before then

@lord-szarvas Yeah. We do so many stuff for Rare and then we dont get anything... New players get one of the rarest set for doing nothing. This is not fair!

@faceyourdemon No, we are talking about the Mercenary cosmetc set. Which is one of the rarest sets ingame and cost over 250 Euros on Ebay (i think this is 300 dollars) And new players that litteraly done nothing get this. And we that played the game so long dont get anything. Really unfair and frustrating

Wow so much anger over a set of clothes. I really don't get it.

There are plenty of other cosmetics that are exclusive to an event or locked behind some kind of paywall similar to how this set was at launch. Just don't get why people are so fussed about a set of cosmetics.

@themasterplan84 Because the majority of the playerbase have been locked out of it by default.
The entire set has been locked behind a promotion only available in a very limited area and only for a 3 month Xbox Live redeem card thingie-ma-bob.
I don't think the promotion ran outside of the US, so the rest of the world has had no chance to get it, and now Rare is just throwing it at people who will probably never use it, and not at people who have wanted it for months upon months, but have had no chance to get it, at all.

Well I'm outside US, have played since beta and still I don't care about new players from friends play free event getting it and not me.

It's just a set of cosmetics that will be worn for a few play sessions then no one will care about them especially if they are handed out to everyone.

Still don't get the anger. Disappointment fair enough but I've seen some people say they are quitting the game.

Like I said it'll just be a set that will be forgotten about if it gets handed out to everyone. I don't see a problem with letting those new players have a rare set of cosmetics

@themasterplan84 Yes, its only cosmetic. But cosmetic is the main-point to use your gold. And the important point is; People that help the game with showing it your friends and play SoT so long dont get a reward, and new players that dont do anything for rare get it. Is this fair? No

@themasterplan84 People always say they are quitting the game, they never go through with it.
It pretty much translates into "I won't play for a day or two, then I'm right back into it".
You see those types of posts on all forums, and then when you check their gamestats, you can see that they are still playing. People who annouce they are going to stop playing, are just trying to get attention from the devs that their actions can have dire consequences, and the best way to get their attention, is to say they are going to stop using their product.
But it has been said so many times it that it has lost all meaning. It is like people who still use the word "lol", when in 99% of cases they have a face like this -.-.

Anyway, the issue with this specific set of gear, is that Rare seems intent on keeping it from people. It is like they are dangling it infront of people who have been looking to get it for months going "We know you want this, but we are going to give it to these guys who won't care about it instead of you guys you are dying to get it".

Everyone deserves a chance to get it(And being told about the chance), else it is just unfair.

There was a clothing set aswell? I thought it was just the ship cosmetics. :(

With regards to showing friends I literally gave them a code which Rare gave me, do i deserve a reward for that? No.

I've played since the beta do I deserve a reward for that? No.

If Rare hands it out to everyone it'll just become another cosmetic set. At least this way those new players are able to have a reasonably exclusive set to sail with

Fair point. I just don't care about cosmetics and 90% of the time just jump on and set sail in basic cosmetics. They don't add anything to the game so don't see the big deal

@spunkus-skunkus and @theMasterplan84 I share that this overreaction with a set of cosmetics is too much, but as I stated, Rare have done something they said they were never going to do. The real problem is that, with this arbitrary excluding promo (and for worst, after the excluded customers did all the work for Rare) now we can't fully trust other things, tied to real money, that they've said before... and the mxt store is right here.

@UrihamRayne The very first thing I said to you is that you don't know anything about the megaupdate clothing. You still talk about "tons", and I said that you need to look the last year because with 3 new clothes at FS they throwed the house out the window. You trust in Rare? well, surprise but this is what I'm talking about, this is a trust problem now.

I've yet accepted that you, at first, were right and the complain about the set is a nosense, yet still you have not shown any respect in my opinions only because were mine (I still don't know what I've done to you, but was well done for sure...), because, as I tried to explain to you over and over, this is not about a shi&y set, is about Rare slaping faces with something they said they were never going to do, and there are a lot of things they said they were not going to do and now we shouldn't trust any of them by their "divinity".

I'm not just about the clothes but just about the principle. People who have done nothing are simply rewarded and we who do something get nothing.

Let's just wait for the next DEV UPDATE VIDEO, maybe there will be some light over this concern, it seems to affect a lot of players.

I would lie if i were to say that i don't care about it, but of course i want it too, a change of clothes
sometime is great.

But the event has already passed, so we can just hope that they thought about it in some event in game or even in the future ''shop online'' with the pets and all.

From what i can see, this set of clothes was given with a 3-month xbox live gold and new players over the free friends week.
So it is a bonus for a purchases of some kind, it just sound logical to me that they want this set to be paired with a purchase.

Come on guys, if you really that upset about a clothing set I think you've got priorities wrong.
You CHOSE to advertise it to your friends, you didn't have to. So what if you get a bit of clothing. These 'time limited' are stating to annoy me.

People get upset when they miss an item part of an update (ashen, skeleton hunter ect) and then people get upset when rare gives an option to get it.

Stop your complaining and maybe propose a better alternative next time. Your not helping anyone sat on a forum screaming because people have the same darn jacket as you.
