My adventure as a salty pirate

    So I was joining random crews and ended up on a sloop with a guy doing some low level gold hoarding. He seemed friendly enough. I helped him finish an island and another sloop attacked. I shot him with a canon right as he grabbed a bomb barrel. It killed him, his partner, and his sloop. They had about four skulls of hateful and villianous quality. We found a drunk chest and a few more and went to turn in.

    I got the skulls in and then blam! A two man brig came up on us and started firing. I turned in another skull and my partner tried to take off but a cursed ball stopped us. I got on their brig and shot one with my pistol stabbed him three times and he fled overboard somehow still alive. I distracted them for a minute hoping my partner would escape but I guess he died and we sank cause I was shot to death by some guy who said adios and after I died and reappeared our ship was on the other side of the map and he had left the game with rage haha. I decided to sail back cause who knows.

    I got there and they took off and I had nothing better to do so I followed. They tried to jump off the back and board me but missed. I didn't do any special manuevering they just misjudged I guess. They were outpacing me pretty hard as they were a brig getting wind vs me on a sloop. Finally after about 15 mins I chased them to an outpost. The one guy taunted me saying he turned everything in but i could have a disgraced skull. i said sure and he shot me lol with his trademark 'adios' idk i guess he was a cowboy or something. I came back and slipped the guy waiting to camp me on my boat. I shot the adios guy to death on his ship and searched them for anything. I found nothing but then looked at their map table and saw a silver flagoon. I jumped to the island and dodged the guy on my ships bad sniper shots and sold the flagoon. Adios returned and with the help of his sniper finished me off as I shouted ' i got the flagooooonnn....'

    It wasn't worth much, but it made me smile haha. I will hang that flagoon on my shelf of trophies.

    Hahahaha... "I got the flagoooooooonnn...", I love it! :D

    A 3-man brig decided to bully me solo, last night, while I was solo-ing the skelly ships (don't ask, I'm not sure why I do that sometimes).
    I was on the captain's wave, resupplying just outside the 'arena', and I thought the brig may be friendly... nnnope.
    I handled the first boarder, but couldn't handle the double & triple team.
    However, I refused to give up, and kept my ship floating. They took all of my supplies while they killed me, but my bucket bails between each killing kept my sloop up.
    They sent my ship back into the skelly ship 'arena', holes and no supplies, for me to spawn back onto...
    And they chased. I guess this was a good laugh for them, lol. Sadly, they never spoke. It was my mocking of them (needing to gang up on me, where as "I can kill ANY OF YOU ONE ON ONE... C'MON!!!!" that, I think, made them choose to send me off with no supplies...
    They wee TERRIBLE cannon shots too. No wonder they relied on the skeleton ships to finish me off.
    However, they didn't finish me off.
    I bailed and sailed my way away from the skeletons. So, the brig continued pursuit - determined to sink my ship, for who knows what reason.
    They pursued... and pursued...
    I knew I could just scuttle my ship, have supplies again, and be away from this brig... but, for some reason, I felt more comfortable with destroying their patience.
    I managed to evade them, while having to also constantly bail. I made some distance and grabbed 5 planks off an island... that patched the LOWER holes, but I still had holes in the back of the ship and then I collided with rocks and had more holes again, and no more planks, LOL...
    Regardless, I never sank, and the brig finally gave up chase (they weren't great sailors either, it seems). A combination of hard turns, a storm, and moving, full speed, through a series of rocks, gave me great distance from them (enough to gather multiple runs of supplies).

    I then watched them log out of the game.
    And continued my way back to the skeleton captain's ship and sink it to collect my treasure... (which I only got a skull from, because the server MERGED!!!!!!!!)

    All true.
    I wish I had gotten a flagon.

    Also... sorry for jumping into my tale from last night. Reading and enjoying your post inspired me to write it down, which I wouldn't have otherwise.

    Love those little bits of closure on a bad night. and since we're telling stories...lol. I went after a skull fort when I was slooping by myself one night only to have a brig come in when I was at the fort and sink my ship. After some more smoke and cannon fire I was on my newly rebuilt ship a little bit away at a random island. I was so irritated that I didnt even get to put up a good fight, I went back, 2 more times. They sank me everytime, but on that last one I literally rode my sails and aimed my sloop right at them only to jump on their deck between them with a keg. After the smoke cleared and all three of us were on the ferry, me and one of their guys shared a laugh and a clap over my final attempt to take them down. I probably spent a good hour at least in just getting back to them but it was worth every second for that keg.

    These two get it haha. Sometimes its about the little victories haha. I use to sail solo all the time but stopped due to getting jumped a lot, but now I am getting back into it a bit due to the voyages with reapers mark on challenge to do 30. Its been pretty fun. I have been jumped but nothing too bad.

    Last nite I was doing a chicken run. Just started and got two chickens out of 6 and a sloop came up. I messaged and spoke to them to be cool cause I only had chickens but they fired anyway. I yelled a few obscenities and took off to escape, returned some fire. They chased me all over so I said F it. I jumped off the back and got on them. They killed me but I saw they had several villianous skulls.... They done messed with the wrong guy haha. I steered my ship straight again and boarded them again and this time I killed them both. I tossed all of their skulls overboard and continued to kill them a few more times before they finally downed me. All the while laughing and telling them it must suck to have all their hard work thrown into the sea lol. DONT MESS WITH A MAN AND HIS CHICKENS.
