Repairing the Hull.

  • Hello,

No, I'm not going to talk about any bug/glitche affecting any Hull... Not this time..

I just wanted to make a suggestion about repairing our damaged beloved vessels.

There should be a option to fully repair the visual damage of the Hull.

Damaged Hull can be seen as a medal of Honor for winning/surviving battles, but it comes to one point the Hull paint turns pointless due to so much damage it suffered...
simply change the paint do not repair the damage. Every single paint turns out to be unrecognizable...
The only way to repair the ship is to get rid of our vessel and scuttle it.

But would that really be necessary?! After we take so much time collecting supplies?

What if the shipwright had an option to repair the Hull to it's original State?

Well she's a shipwright after all... if She can build them, she should repair them as well.
It could cost some gold as well, obviously.

  • Not too bad of an idea. An option from shipwrights to refurbish the vessel. Although coming back from skellies makes it look like I survived a naval blockade to the tune of 'das boot' (love that movie btw); it would be nice to restore it with supplies intact.

  • @nunoazuldimeter Sounds like a nice idea.
I normally just call my ship "The Swimming swiss Cheese" and run with it, but i understand that some players would prefer her ship in pristine condition and for this you have to scuttle and give up all your supplies with it by now.
Having a repair option at the shipwrights could be a good addition to help players keep up their preferred ships look. This should only work, when all holes are already repaired by the player to avoid abuse of this function.

  • I'm completely behind this idea. I like the idea of giving a little more function to the Outposts, which this would. It doesn't even really need to be something that has to be done via dialogue, but rather it can be attached as a function in the "Ship Customization" chest at the Shipwrights as a "Repair Hull" option. It could also be either free or for a relatively low cost (say 100gp or less, so it is less than turning in a single bit of treasure since a lot of people still want more gold sinks, this is a viable spot to toss one since it is still technically a "cosmetic" thing which is what we spend gold on anyways).

More simply, I don't really care how they go about putting it in, but they should put it in.

  • Indeed, this feature couldn't work if the ship had any kind of leak, to avoid exploits.

This painting repair should definitely happens.
Yesterday my crew fought the 3 battles always with the same vessel you can just imagine how damaged and unrecognizable the paint was....
We thought on scuttle it but we gather so much resources and got emotional attached to it ahah.

  • @nunoazuldimeter this has been brought up numerous times before. But you still get my upvote! We definitely need this. The game is mostly a journey of cosmetics, and we want our ships to look good!

  • @NunoAzuldimeter repairing and repainting your ship when redocked at an outpost should definitely be an option.

  • YEEEES !!! always a beautiful and shining vessel! 😎
