Hi, I am here just to 'suggest' a new feature which should definitely be considered to be added as it will fix a lot of problems which are currently occurring. If the vote kick system is added it will fix problems like when you vote people in the brig they can just troll you by going afk but have an auto clicker or something around their analog stick to stop the afk kicking happening; this needs to be bypassed, and fast. One way to do it is if someone is voted into the brig, when in the brig they need to stay in there for 5 minutes which basically gives the crew time to either leave them in or vote them out of the game. This will not break the pure aspect of the brig as there is a minimum timer before even having the option to kick them. Thanks.

again, there are 2 systems and both systems can be abused. Here are the consequences of both systems abused
in the current system, if you did work you will get rewarded regardless of the AFKer
in a vote kick system, if you did work you will not get rewarded.
it's a "pick the lesser of 2 evils" kind of solution here where the current system makes sure you get rewarded if you put some work into it.
As @SquaZ05 stated here It could and will be abused. If you have trouble with people abusing open crews report them and blacklist them. Then just make a new crew. Best solution is to get a group of likeminded people in a closed crew together.
@squaz05 I do understand your point and sometimes you vote someone in the brig after they do a bit of work because they trolling the crew. But there are other types of people that troll the crew as soon as they join and just wait to be rewarded with the loot and xp they didn't earn.
@hynieth I agree, but sometimes I feel like joining an open crew and I found a good team but one of our members left and someone else joined jumped on an opposing ship blew up their 14 barrels and then just waits in the brig for us to sell the skeleton ship loot and receive the commendation; I did report this player but I don't know how far they can take this situation.

Its not abused as much as afker's. Every other game on the planet has a way to get rid of unwanted players and its an absolute detriment to SoT since its a heavy team oriented game. To suggest its going to be a widespread issue and abused is absolutely unfounded.
@flippin-loud Indeed, but a lot of animation work would need to be put into that. I would love to see a short cutscene played with the pirate falling off the plank into the water and then he dies but really gets kicked.

Yup, maybe a bunch of sharks frenzy around him and a green flash like when u go to the ferry but they will go back to the main menu instead 🤣

at least those who worked got the reward
Imagine if you just spent 3 hours gathering x amount of chests and right beefore handing them in, your crew vote kicks you to invite their friend...
I would rather give the AFKer something than to remove rewards from someone who actually worked.@savagetwinky said in Vote Kicking:

It is greatly abused on those other games with VoteKick. A lot more than you make it sound.

@eddatfc But most reasonable people who not abuse it and just use it to kick players that annoy and disrupt the crew by killing alliance ships, throwing loot overboard or even killing allies.
While true, this game is littered with immature 10 year olds with not enough parental supervision. I've been insta-locked in the brig by several crews just this week for having the audacity to log into their open crew. If I can troll them right back by leaving them a man short, why shouldn't I be able to? Payback's a...well, you know.
I once made a post in the looking for group thing to get through some of the skelly ships and the dude that joined was terrible. He seemed okay to begin with but when we were in the heat of battle he refused to help with repairing when two of our other team mates had died and I was struglging to keep up with the bailing and repairing of the ship on my own.
We lost two ships and the third time we were just about sunk again but decided to flee with the loot me had managed to get (however little it was) as the time was just about up anyway and the ships would have dissapeared half way through the battle.
This did not sit well with the dude in question as the ship we had been trying to complete was the only one he had left (which he kept saying often and loudly) and obviously did not feel up for helping us with the other ones as he kept sabbotaging the ship via gunpowder barrels and dumping the loot we had into the sea for whatever so we locked him in the brig in hopes he would leave, we asked him to leave also but he couldn't see anything wrong with his behaviour and said we were the ones who were wrong and he just refused to leave, we had hoped that by the time we restocked the ship he would have left but he didn't. we spent like an hour waiting for him to leave so we could get someone in to do the next skelly ships.
At some point we just stayed in princible because why should we leave? we just spent ages filling up the ship, it went so far that we filled the bottom of the hip with water enough that he would drown even another crew came to ally with us and killed him because he wouldn't stop sceaming and just being a horrible person in general.
Maybe we should have just left the game ourselves but why should we have to be the ones to leave? It has happened so often and is just a pain in the rear with people like that I would love a kick feature but I do think in a lot of cases it could and probably would be abused but that is the same with any feature really I would have thought.

Its not, not really to the point of how much grief not being able to remove another player causes. This games fun depends on being able to find a team you can work with and without the ability to remove someone you don't like its impossible to fully enjoy the game. The amount of people that you end up "stuck with" is absurd. The amount of afker's in this game is also absurd, nearly every game I'm in there is always one person on the ship of the damned afking. The vast majority of a vote kick system's usage is proper usage, except for completely terrible people which will find a way to ruin someone's day no matter what.
Seeing as the progression systems have a very small impact on the game its far more beneficial to let players removed unwanted team members than to worry about someone that might get booted before a turn in. One impacts 3 players negatively over the course of an entire play session while the other negatively impacts a player minimally most of the time. The fact that having a bad person on your team can greatly effect the experience... means this game requires the ability to remove bad players.
