Unlimited Life !?!?!?

    Good morning everyone.

    I foud out a serious problem with the life of some players. It seems that is unlimited. I want to make an example in order to clarify what is the problem.

    Yesterday I was participating in a raid with my friends. There was a galeon docked near the fort, and when I get down from our ship I met one player of the enemy galeon. I hit him with the sniper weapon three times but he didn't die!!! I'm sure I hit him because I saw the hit indicator on the screen. He haven't eaten any banana. He killed me with the gun hiting me only once! My life was full!.
    Any way, I went to the island again and this time I tried to hit with arquebus. I shooted him three times but he dind't die (o.o'') and I'm sure I hit him because there was the hit indicator. He killed me again shooting me with his gun once (again...). I went to the island againg but I asked my friends to help me to kill this player. We found him and we hit him 6 times but he was still alive! Then we died because the galeon shooted us with cannons. When we came back on the island we met the other player and it seamed they had an unlimited life like their friend.

    The other strange thing is that when we came back on the island (yes, again) we hit the galeon with our galeon's cannons about 30 times(we counted them) but the galeon dindn't sunk! I have to tell you, I was very angry.

    I state I'm not a legendary player, but considering that this player was a legendary player, I want to ask you something: Have legedary player an unlimited life?!

    We lose one hour with this. It doesn't make any sense!

    Could someone explain me what happened please?

    @default1710 Ahoy matey!

    No player should have unlimited life (not even Pirate Legends). I would drop a support ticket to Rare using the link below. This sounds like it could either be a serious server lag issue or possibly cheating.

    If you also suspect this is the case, click the link below submit a ticket and someone from Rare will take a look at the data to see what has gone on.

    Yah that was helpful and well thought out.

    @default1710 sound like they were using a cheat of some kind, i have heard people on the forums mention there is a god mode cheat floating around...so maybe...or maybe just really really bad lag. Though I think they should change the hit to the server end not the client.

    @default1710 I found something similar to that in early months of SoT.
    With the difference we didn't shoot them 30 Cannons but 100+ while they were on the island. They had the ship filled with Bounty skulls. They didn't even bother to go to the Outposts selling that, instead they followed us all along that session.. we couldn't killed them once.

    Pretty weird...

    Like @Musicmee said, the best thing to do is open a ticket in the support page. Providing all the information you have for devs to investigate.
    It could be some server issue or, the worst scenario, cheats.

    @default1710 the one shot kill is likely the use of a macro or very fast weapon switch. You aim you eye of reach and fire and immediately switch to the pistol and fire in the same second. Bot bullets follow the same trajectory and you die seemingly in "one shot". Also your hit markers sound like a lag issue.

    IIRC if you never complete the tutorial (eat your first banana) you stay invincible to other players.

    I recently made a post (earlier today) with a similar complaint and got told the same stuff about being out-classed, which to be fair i accept as a possibility, but thankfully your example here offers more credence to the need for at least a list of things to look out for for potential cheaters, i've suffered similar behaviour from players since the start. the way i see it is I personally have two options, record and potentially report anyone better than me, or be given a list of things to look out for ;)

    This has been fixed by now.
    And it would be only true for brief moments in that session not sticking with your character all the way.

    It sounds like a ping issue. If they are lagging, their actual location as seen by the server can be different than what you see on your end. Since the hit markers are rendered on your end, it could show up as a hit, even though the server sees a miss.
