Let's face it the game we love so much SOT doesn't seem to be such a hit :::At any given time most of the players I've friended up with in SOT will be playing other titles
Why?? Because the average gamer is into games that have constant action and consistent encounters
When you're grinding in the game u frequently find yourself for instance, sailing upwind to get to another island on the other side of the map............ 20 minutes later u have a chest or 2 then repeat x700... The game is amazing and the open world feel is same
But there r so many ways that the devs could further develop the game to fix the bore of the grind
Ideas?...
Maybe it would help if they simply added more kinds of loot... More kinds of treasure quests like to catch and cage a black panther
Or have games on the ship where u could arm wrestle for a wager ... Maybe a couple more kinds of raids that players could choose from with a higher max of players/ship on any given server....
One thing is for certain ...I hope they r paying attention to the ideas of the community that play the game- because the forums are a wealth of ideas that certainly could help bring the game to gain a lot more popularity
Game grind can get really boring
I rather like the game that doesn't require hefty time investments. I keep coming back for a voyage here and there but don't feel the need to play constantly. I love that this online MP doesn't require my dedication. I'm free to play some other single player games, enjoy my boxing, have a full-time job... have a life.
edit: part of the reason I play infrequently is it's a bit of a time sink when you do sit down to play so having 3-4 hours available. But I've never been let down yet.
I wouldn’t mind the grind if they took out some of the major annoyances. Generic Athena skeletons thwarting you while doing Athena bounties, Gluttonous pigs, low value loot at high levels, and the speed of the boat against the wind really wear on you over time. Rare really needs to avoid making the game take long with tedious annoyances. I don’t mind the grind I even endorse it. Just make it bearable.
