For the love of the sea...

  • Stop trying to fix this terrible mess you have made and just revert to the previous version.

Send your buggy patch back to testing and figure it out. Maybe open a dozen test servers and let us actually test the incomming patches, because no offense your internal testing does not seem very good. How many times have I seen in the patch notes "alt tabbing no longer crashes the game", only to have multiple people immediately confirm, that alt tabbing does indeed still crash the game? The response? "Well Gosh Darn it!"

I mean come on guys, I know you are working hard and everyone is beating you up, but whatever you are doing is not working. I don't want to beta test a broken patch over the next few days, I want to play.

Please revert to the last stable version!

I do think they should have went with a full revert back to stable and continued to investigate what exactly happened here.

Its tough though, I know these things are complicated, and I would like to believe that as far as they knew this update was going to be released without a problem and then this happens.

  • @sneakler I'm not a programmer, I have no idea the complexity of what it takes to make these updates happen.

I do know that they are burning up their goodwill, every minute they leave this patch in place.

It would be different if this was the first straw, but for many people it's not and for some it's the last.

  • it doesn't take a programmer to see that goodwill is indeed being burned at a quicker pace every time issues like this arise. I do not blame Rare for intentionally pushing out these buggy patches. But the fact remains that players are getting increasingly frustrated by delays, bugs, and botched patch releases.

  • @mattydove74 Can't wait for the upcoming DLC! I'm sure that it wont break the game!

  • @sneakler I said this in another post so if you already saw it sorry for posting it again. This is just my speculation but since they are using feature toggling it was probably faster to turn off some features and remain on the same build than to redeploy an old build to all of the servers. The problem is the issue seems to be outside of the features they turned off. If the issue had been in one of the new features then their fix time would have been very fast.
