They don't "suck at their jobs". [Mod edited] to be sailing around with 10 captains chests when disconnecting is a possibility. [Mod edited]
Ouch! L**o you okay mate? Sensing abit of anger here lol
I have a speedy internet connection but it does drop every so often and takes 30 seconds or so to reconnect and so I get dropped. The main time this is an issue is when playing with my nephew over LAN as we both get dc'ed. It'd be lovely to have a way of getting back into the game, my suggestion would be moving your pirate to the ferry when you disconnect then rejoining through this within five minutes. This would mean people couldn't try to exploit a disconnect if that might be an issue.
I assume however a lot of the work for this game is done on the client side and without a client to respond the game simply can not keep your session alive. I hope it is something they are working on and they find a solution soon, in the mean time I'll just visit the outpost more often or travel with others who are not local to me.

@knifelife You don't see my point? Deal with the consequences imo
Honestly i think your both right (Minus him calling the devs stupid) you should cash in frequently aswell. But it should be so you don't lose it to other pirates and stuff. There is a consistent issue with Almondbeard errors and server crashes. So the devs to make it a top priority to sort out because its happening way to frequently.
@knifelife I agree with you there totally. But you seem to know that server crashes are frequent, so OP should too. If they want to take their chances with sailing with 10 captains chests on unstable servers, they shouldn't complain when they lose all their loot when the inevitable crash happens
@clauuds98 Nahh I agree, it just must be frustrating to lose stuff to that. Fair enough if you get pirated and lose it all you deserve it aha. I just would find it anoying that you have to play around a server crash which could strike anytime.
Either way im sure the devs are working h*****n fixing it. :)
@urihamrayne of course they're beyond player control. Even more of a reason to cash in loot frequently..OP had it coming 'mate'.
@knifelife I remember when I was first playing it in the alphas, betas and even the release I couldn't even get into the server, let alone a disconnect! Its great to see how hard the devs are working. Its not every day we get devs who listen to their community like the SoT ones. Eg not implementing the death charge
@clauuds98 server/connection issues beyond player control shouldn't force players to play a certain way, that is just bad game design. If there was a reconnect feature in the game, it would make these problems less opressive.
Selling your stuff often shouldn't be the answer to this problem. They need to give us at least 5 minutes to come back to the game.
It doesn't matter how much loot you are carrying. Players shouldn't have to worry about disconnecting and losing all their progress.
Being kicked out of the game while doing a skull fort or a legendary voyage, without having any way of coming back is not ok.@clauuds98 said in my internet never dc'ed and im kicked for it:

Can we please get the disrespectful people that behave like this removed permanently from the forums? Please?
@pure-rare you're telling me to learn respect when OP called devs out for 'sucking at their jobs'? 10/10 logic
@clauuds98 Please refrain from personal attacks and name calling on the forums, as it is a violation of our Forum rules. Your post has been edited accordingly.

No thanks, I'd rather not have more features that people can abuse and exploit, thank you very much. Voyages used to do this and they do so no longer because of exploiters.
Was this a feature in the alpha/beta? How was it being exploited? If Rare was to add a "reconnect" feature, how would it be exploited? Especially if your anchor auto dropped upon disconnect instead of the scuttle feature currently in place.
@evasive-envy not enough evidence to come up with any solid conclusion, I wish I could test this but I can't buy an xbox just to test a game... if rare wants to send me one though :^)
