Proof of Cheating: A Fifth player join a Galleon, and after he was connected twice removing a player after 24h of play and over 400 items to sell

  • Hi everybody,

This was recorded on Twitch but I can't put any name or link here. And as my friends don't speak english, here is there story :

Some french friends were trying to make a record of 310+ Chests. After 24h of play, a fifth player joined the game doing nothing.... Nobody was able to put him into brick. He answer few questions and after an hour he left... But few minutes after he was connected twice removing a french player. Then he was send to jail.

Btw there were almost 300 chests, dozen of skulls, merchant crates ...

To avoid giving all thoses things to this cheater and nothing to the one who was hacked, they sell only the 5-6 legendary chests and few other things and finally they decided to sunk the ship in the red sea.

There were like 400+ items floating on the sea.

This happens this afternoon and I've just watch the stream when I was back home. I didn't manage to contact them yet, I think they are sleeping.

Hope Rare will give EVERYTHING back to my friends and REMOVE this CHEATER from the game.

Please support them by asking Rare to do something for my friends.

  • @cpt-kris-draken you have to report it, idealy with a video proof. We can't do anything about it in here.

  • @sir-lotus I know , but as I'm only a spectator, I have nothing to report. I'll ask them to do this when they wake up.

  • happened to me also...

I have video on my xbox of the ledger. I got kicked from the game as well with a network error after some point- and lost a bunch of stuff too...but meh.... I want a special title for getting screwed by the pc players

  • yea of course blame the PC players for you getting disconnected.

I would let 400 chests sink to the bottom of the sea after playing for 24 hours too - cuz it would take you another 24 hours to turn them all in- aint nobody got time for that

  • Never heard of something like this happening before even after the few hundred hours I've played. I'd honestly like to see the footage you're talking about.

  • I doubt this is a hack, 5th galleon players have always been a problem since last patch. It's a network issue. As for your experience, that definitely sounds like it wasn't part of the game's original code. File in a report and Rare would be able to investigate hopefully.

  • "Proof of a known Bug" is more like it.

And why the guy come back after and kick another player ... while he is appearing twice.

Thats what they've done to avoid giving the money and Xp to the cheater. They only sell few things like legendary chests.

  • If you would please raise a support ticket on this, the team can investigate what happened. Give as much detail as you can, along with the footage you have.

OK I'll do it for them, and send you the video. After you should contact them but they are French ;)

  • LOL to the people always crying "fake" and asking for proof when naming and shaming isn't allowed.

thank you for the info. i now know another risk while playing this game.

Our support team is multi-lingual, so they should be able to converse with those involved :)

If you genuinely suspect someone of cheating, please give this thread a read.

Mind you it doesn't really sound like this person was cheating, more like the servers were just bugging out. Lots of people have reported having a 5th player join their galleon crews and being unable to brig them.

I think it's due to the fact that Rare originally designed the crews to allow for more players than just four during the alpha tests and as such there's likely some bugs left over in the code that can let people slip through cracks.

Honestly it seems like your friends may have over reacted in throwing 300+ chests off of their boat just because a random joined their crew. It's not like they'd lose anything from him getting the gold and experience.

  • @cpt-kris-draken I've had what im pretty sure was a bug happen twice now that allowed a 5th player to enter the game for some reason. Once close to launch and then again yesterday.

  • why did you care if he gets gold ?

    "he is a cheater"

what if he was just a random chap trying to join a game and he gets into your group (5 bug)

400 items ... I understand 20 or 30 if you are DESPERATELY trying to prove a point but ... 24 HOURS of lifetime/playing thrown out of the window ... for what ?

even if he WAS a cheater, my life/playtime would be way to precious for something like that.

  • @cpt-kris-draken I think its a glitch tbh. Joe Neate replied on a tweet last night I believe saying it was a glitch to guy who had a 6 person crew

Ok its a bug when he enter the game first but after an hour he left, they where 4 man again and then he joined again (he appears twice in the list) and one player WAS REMOVED from the game. That's why they throw everything because only 3 peoples were getting gold an Xp. If one of the player wasn't remove, then they sold everything and the 5th player will also have everything.

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/260147646

  • Up up up :/
