Fill crew option

I would like to see an option to fill crew, not just have you automatically fill it when i start playing. It would be nice to start sailing solo and be able to add a friend mid voyage. Currently my options are play solo and have to quit to join up with friends playing. You could even make it where we could start solo and open it up to random players when we feel like doing so.
