Solo players should get a gold and reputation multipliers. There should be more reward for greater difficulty. Risk should be worth the reward and right now Solo risks are not worth the reward. I do play with my friends a lot but sometimes they cant play right then, and I still want to earn gold and rep. At that point Solo players should be compensated for not having as many people as a bigger crew.
(I have edited this post to get rid of the ideas I no longer agree with, that I had earlier)
Playing Solo Needs a Buff
@laughsmaniacaly Ok but there still is no incentive to keep playing on solo, you should get more rewards from having a harder difficulty.
@lightning49455 there shouldn't be an incentive, the game is meant to be played with friends, youre just able to play solo because rare understands how sh**ty it is to not be able to play because you either have no friends or your friends are busy, it is meant to be a harder option as well as the not recommended option
I agree that it's a lot harder but disagree that there should be greater rewards. I think it would upset the balance of the game if solo pirates were getting greater rewards. In a sense, shouldn't crews of four be rewarded for demonstrating cooperative gameplay which can be a major hurdle as is? So I vote no to greater rewards for solo players.
Why would they emphasize solo play? They want players to play together and they want to create a game for players to enjoy experiences together. I enjoy solo play, but I don't know about encouraging it over a stronger group play focused game.
If something should have a multiplier effect, it should be loot turn-ins for any crew size. The more on the ship, the greater the multiplier -creating more high tension moments for players that want the risk.
@gloog That is mostly whats i was thinking, I dont really care about ship or weapon multipliers but a loot one would be nice
@lightning49455
Now that i agree with, I've said before that each voyage should have it's own value but the value should be divided into the crew.Not many people follow that though and most seem comfortable with the "it's not meant for solo players" /"join a crew" mentality.
Personally I just play for the stories
@gloog Thank you for clarifying, but if they do that it becomes less fair for solo players, but it still does sound like a good idea to get people to play together and cooperate more
SoT is a galleon-centric game. They really want players to crew up hoping it increases the fun factor. They also know the nature of the game is going to attract solo players.
Rare neither rewards or punishes sailing solo beyond natural player driven interactions.
So as a sloop, consider yourself a rabbit and the galleon a wolf. Your kill on sight to anyone not in your crew.
Doesn't matter if you have booty, or not. Or if your on land, or not.
This provides the tension necessary to focus on completing the voyage.
No buff for playing solo, as mentioned earlier, just cashing in without getting ganked is it's own reward.You want to make easy gold?
Crew up.The only real problem I have with solo play is that the AoE knockback of cannonballs makes ship to ship combat extremely unfair and in most cases grants an automatic win to the one who lands the first hit on a sloop, due to the fact that it is the only ship where you can be knocked clean across the entire deck and into the drink.
@lightning49455 I
Learn to play with others, the social experiences are the mac'n'cheese of this game, as much the bad oned that pushed you to ask for this as much as the good ones you would have if you used xbox clubs and put nice players on your friendlist.
I like feeling the extra danger and rush of risk playing solo as it is btw...
@laughsmaniacaly the game is completely subjective, it's your own experience however you choose to play. It's nice to have the option.
@genereder I should probably have mentioned that I play all the time with my friends, I just think that there should be a gold multiplier or something similar in place to make the risk more worth it

So stop.
@mattydove74 Iwant to beable to earn gold and reputation when my friends arent on with me, but there should be a reward boost to compensate for my friends not being able to play with me
