Rammed a ship with mine and they took 0 water?

  • Then proceeded to 1v4 and wipe their team. They should be sunk.

EDIT: Apparently hole locations from ramming are random.

  • So you did nothing but ram their ship and you think thats enough to sink them? It will put maybe a couple holes in a ship, and if a smart crew sees it coming, theyll be ready to repair.

  • @ghost-0f-dawn Yes, it should put multiple holes in their ship. And if they are all dead they can't patch them.

i.e. The duration of time that I had them all dead (killed them multiple times) would have been enough to sink them

  • @xcalypt0x again, ramming doesnt do massive damage, its fairly minor, and if they see it coming theyll have it patched before you even got to them. Additionally if you hit a Galleon it may not have put holes below the water.

  • @ghost-0f-dawn I was below deck well before they could have patched. Jumped from my bow spirit right to their stairs and went below deck immediately to guard the holes that never showed up. Did not even hear one of the patching. 2 were in the water, one of the main deck. Did not see the fourth on the bottom deck when I ran there. Also hit them with full sail.

  • Ramming doesn't gaurentee holes in the bottom. Maybe you only put holes above.

  • @gloog Ah okay. Didn't know that. Is hole location from ramming random?

  • I know this isnt about "Ramming" but I've noticed if you explode a barrel along the beam underneath the ship it does minimal damage but if you choose a side of of the hull (Left or Right) it does MAX dmg

  • @xcalypt0x said in Rammed a ship with mine and they took 0 water?:

It's actually Ramdom but yeah I've had the same happen before. Put three holes in the upper deck of a galley and none below.

    Feels sad man.

  • @molanabram I didn't know this either. I have definitely done that in the past to try and get holes on both sides.

from my testing, kegs make 4 holes on a galleon. no matter what. even if a little far from the keg.
    always 4

  • @sir-rhavi Are they always on the bottom level?

@sir-rhavi Are they always on the bottom level?

if you detonate underwater, seems so.

  • @xcalypt0x it depends where you hit them where the hole spawns, some spots won’t spawn a hole no matter how hard you ram them.

  • Ramming is for scrubs.

In all seriousness though, the never ending sloop rammers deserve to get wrecked when they do nothin but ram lol

  • I had someone ram me. When I saw it coming I jumped off and swam toward his boat. Boarded him killed him and rammed his boat into and island. Killed him again and rammed it again in the island. His boat sank, mine was fine and dandy.

    Ramming usually doesn't work well.

  • @tre-oni Well I only did once. I was first at the fort. Left and came back only because my OOS voyage bugged out and skelies didn't spawn. Didn't have a barrel so it was just a kamikaze mission. Left them alone after that. I hate the people who come back over and over.

  • @xcalypt0x I'm mostly joking anyway lol

I do find it highly annoying having most fights with sloops result in them getting hammered, coming in to ram, taking off, repairing, and then immediately coming in for another ram. No shots fired, no real fun or engaging combat.. just "hey let me smack my ship into you several times with no actual end result."

Its easy to punish and destroy those kinds of people, but this is going to get stupid with 4 man sloops easy.
