What I'd like to see added To Sea of Thieves

  • For starters they got to add more songs for the musical instruments in this game, like at least five. Also there needs to be more things to do on the ship when nothing is happening, i would suggest putting a poker table so we could bet our gold and play poker. That seems like a very fun thing to do. Also new and worthwhile cosmetics and props that can be bought for the ship would be lovely. A big thing that a lot of people have suggested to be added to the game is ghostly skeleton pirate ships (NPC's) that have rng loot aboard and other prizes. They also need to up the amount of random loot you can find on islands, plus add new kinds, maybe even consumables that grant certain buffs. I also want new and quirky ways to kill skeletons. I would also love bounties for other pirate crews that have grown in notoriety. I also think there needs to be more in the ocean. I would love to spear fish for things i could sell to the merchant and gain reputation. These are just some of the ideas I have and will be posting more in the future.     Well those seem fun additions.
    But i think there are more pressing issues.
    NPC-Ships yes, but please with new kinds of enemies, not more skeletons...

    I have my own personal list of suggestions. Maybe we can expand on it. Even tho as i understood, there is a poll that is running atm.

    Important Changes that I think are necessary:

    1. Dont spawn ships as close as you do right now.
      It makes PvP into a grindfest of repeating the same battles and takes away the feel of victory. On the other hand if you are in a sloop and get killed by a galleon, chances are, that they will keep harassing you if you spawn right in front of them... Instead punish the losing crew by spawning them far away, minimizing their chance for a skull-fort – for example.

    2. More Enemies
      The game loses a lot of potential by only having one kind of enemy in the game – the skeletons. Just add in “normal” pirates to fight, or boss-powered shipwrecked people that went crazy on lonely islands, maybe even add in some royal navy troups – which leads us to

    3. NPC Ships
      I know you said in the past you don’t want this, because encounters with Ships should always feel special – but why wouldn’t it be? Lets think about this: Lets introduce two new kinds of ships: Traders and Royal Navy Boats. One has nice loot on it so you actually get to do some pirating, the other one could spawn once you attacked the former or you just get a rare chance of running into one on patrol. I imagine it being a hard nut to crack, like a boss in shipform – something exciting.

    4. New Questgivers IMPORTANT
      A few Ideas:

    Explorers-Guild – these guys could give out maps/keys to dungeons. Once you are there you open a gate and are brought to a new instance just for your crew. Some heavy PvE and riddles and puzzles could make for a fun adventure.

    Bountyhunters – condition for this: making a crew able to NAME their ship. Afterwards these guys would give out a bounty for a ship with said name. You get a clue where they were seen last. PvP would become more meaningful if it was part of a quest. The crew that was picked to be hunted should get a notification, too. Maybe don’t make it random, let players place a bounty (ie a sloop that got hit one too many times)

    Grog-Gurglers – they will spawn randomly on an outpost pub and challenge a crew to a drink-off. Of course this minigame would function in a different way than the normal drinkin and could involve having to fake taking a sip, drinking water but losing points and so on and so on. This could bring life into the pubs.

    Canon-Club – a minigame that features targets on the sea while you and your crew must beat a highscore by firing a canon on land or ship. Beating a certain score could also unlock a cosmetic feature like having bronze/silver/golden cannons, so other crews see that the guys on deck know their cannons..

    1. More Monsters
      The Kraken is a great start, but there are SO many more legends to go by. Pick some and put them in the game. I would love it and I think most other players would too. But please… PLEASE… once you beat them let some chests they carried in their belly float up for the player to pick up.

    Minor Changes that I would like to see:

    1. Being able to change flag.

    It even could have a system behind it:

    Color Message Consequence
    White We give up Crew surrenders/ship stops/cant sink: Cooldown 1 Minute
    Gray We have nothing Can only be used with empty ships
    Yellow Give up your loot None
    Black You are dead None
    Red Stay away or we fight None

    Communicating on distance this way could spice things up. Intentions and possible loot could be seen from far away.

    1. Visible Anchors with ropes that can be cut

    Would add a new strategic element. Cut your own anchor to get away faster (losing your chance to safely slow down at an outpost) or cut the one of the enemy to reduce their possibility to make a manouvre.
