Tired of this raiding the coffers, it would be possible to refuse the pvp ..
It's annoying to lose your coffers and other treasure while arriving at a port.
A PVE option please.
@natachamarie30 Only thing I think they could do would be to make Outposts "safe" zones. I would personally have no problem with this.
Ah no s**t? You know it's a pirate game do you? Have you ever played dayz or altis life? You can loose everything (4-30h) work in 1 min. This game is a cakewalk for me. Yhea it's frustrating but the fear of loosing it all and trying your hardest to stay alive is what makes this game so great for me. And no they stated that they will never implement something like this, not even safezones.
@gotwhity66 I would. Last time some guys we chased were at the outpost before us. We ankered shot us directly to the traders and took their loot. This would just cause people running into a safe zone all the time they about to loose.
@natachamarie30 Yhea i would change everything about the game except what you want. And gladly the dev team is on my side here. Don't get your hopes high, they will never implement a pve server zone or anything in this regard, as stated by the devs themself.
@natachamarie30 I don't know what you'r refering to but if you think pve only or safezones will ever be an option you'r wrong. In an interview with the devs they said they will never do this. So sorry that you'll still get robbed in the future. Happy questing. Try not to get sunk next time.
@natachamarie30 And if you don't want to talk to the players don't post in the forum, go to the support and submit your ideas there.
@natachamarie30 a lot of these negative comments though they are worded poorly are correct. It’s very easy to avoid combat. The game isn’t going to hold your hand or reward you without risk. Everyone deals with that risk and you aren’t special.
There are countless tips and tricks on how to avoid combat try that.

Sometimes the devs of a game may not want to do something but, due to the overwhelming request of their community, they will do something. They're not so narrow-minded to stick by something (anything) to such an extent that it drives the majority of their player base away from their game. A smart team will adapt and bend when it's necessary to prolong the life and success of their title while trying to maintain the core components and concept of it as well.
@sajakain18 as soon safezones are implemented i will stop playing, and a lot of other players will too.

Not happening, bros.

Here's the thing. In this genre more people enjoy the PvE aspect of the game. With this title, it's the lore of being a pirate, looking for treasure, killing skeletons along the way, and enjoying themselves in that aspect. Only a percentage of the player base plays solely for the PvP aspect.
You are, without a doubt, correct. You and others will leave if they implement safe zones but it won't be a large percentage of the players.
safezones and PvE servers are not needed at all.
You should never be carrying enough treasure to where you can't hurry it to sell and if you are check the outpost first, see a ship sale to another outpost.
Half the game is weighing risk vs reward. If everyone just filled their boat with gold and sailed to the closest outpost to be "Safe" there is no risk.
The servers aren't big enough to cry about pvp vs pve. There are only 4 ships I believe per server thus plenty of leg room to avoid it if you choose. I have never gotten into a pvp battle I didn't wish to be in and I only carry enough treasure to make sure I can offload it quickly if I'm playing solo. If another ship rolls up on me as I'm offloading and takes some before I can cash it all in...welp next time I carry less. Pirates life
@sajakain18 so what do you think also represents the pirate life? Yes other pirates and ships. If people enjoy the pirate life so much then they would also enjoy the pvp, because it's part of it, else no point in being a pirate. And trust me I love PvE and PvP and this game has the greatest mix of all other games in my opinion.
@sajakain18 trust me, i can garantee that not even 30% enjoy the PvE more than PvP. It's the mix that makes this game special.
Never going to happen. The grand majority of the problems that people are having are because they are not aware on how to play. If you have a ton of chests and don’t want to lose your gold. Don’t go to the outpost with 3 ships with hungry pirates on it. Do a mermaid check. I have level 20+ in 2 factions and have encountered no problems with pvp. We even sailed to 3 outposts to avoid losing gold.
@joda1123 exactly the mix!
I have pvped a lot in the alpha and betas but none at all (yet) since launch. I have been chased a couple of times and man does my heart race as I realize I'm carrying way to much in a sloop while a gallon is coming up fast, but I have managed to get away.
I have taken many people on my friends list on voyages that have said the same thing about needing or wanting a PvE zone or server and after a close call they are going crazy with how much fun it was trying to escape with a ship full of loot and how without that extra excitement the game wouldn't feel the same.
Every time you place a chest on your ship begins the true voyage of "Can I get this back to an outpost safely"
Since this is one of Microsoft's big tenpole titles this year, if they see the player base becoming toxic and they start bleeding players, I'm sure they WILL tell rare to do something that isn't in their game plan. Its not like that is unprecedented in the game development world.
I also wouldn't be surprised at all if like Tomb Raider, that we see ps4 and switch versions by the holidays to increase the player base and bring in more money, IF Sony can get their heads out of their @$$e$ and allow crossplay.@gareeet Microsoft will never allow a first party title to leave their system. Halo, Forza, Gears of War, etc
Chiming in against safe zones. Do not want. I have finally run into my first "outpost camper/griefer" after playing for several days and it was actually a really fun encounter that turned a ho-hum tromp to collect chickens into a game event that my co-pirate and I were still talking about this morning. Sure it ads an element of stress to carrying cargo, but without it you are just carrying cargo.
In our altercation we did laps around the outpost with them chasing us and dropped off a few of our items. Once they realized what was up there were pirates in town fighting as 3 of them left the ship to try and catch me dropping my crates. I sold my crate, they killed me, and I respawned on our sloop after a brief exodus to the ferryman. Now with both of us on the sloop and 3 of 4 of the raiders on the island trying to stop a deposit, we simply sank the galleon. After that there were a few skirmishes on the island, a chicken was hidden, and another chicken was floating around. But when it was all said and done the quest was complete and we had a BLAST. Pirates from the offending team and our team exchanged tag information and we will fight again soon, or maybe be on the same crew. Who knows.
What I do know, is that I dont think a game designer could have scripted an event that was more fun and strange than that encounter. Human intelligence beats programmed AI every time.
Keep our outposts wild!

Yeah, there is that...they already have very few exclusives as it is.
Doesn't matter to us since we have both options available for us here, but didn't Microsoft also fund Rise of the Tomb Raider development as a limited exclusive release? If they smell selling a million more copies and sustaining a good player base, that might be a win in their book over exclusivity.

You can't guarantee that because you A) don't know how many continue to play this game at this current time and B) don't know how many of those enjoy one aspect over the other. You can't give a guaranteed percentage. All you can give is your best guess (and, frankly, without any insider information it's not even close to an educated guess let alone an accurate one).
What I can give you, though, is roughly 14 years of this type of game experience across several titles and themes. In every single one of them, PvP was the minority. It was a side factor that was optional for those that enjoyed it. PvE was the primary drive of the game.
======================
Joe Neate (Executive Producer) said this:
"Our focus for launch is on delivering a great initial experience, and as we move beyond launch we will be assessing and reacting to player feedback across all areas of the game."If this is true, I think we'll see safe zones eventually implemented into the game. PvP will still be active outside of outposts and those who enjoy the PvE aspect will have an assurance that there are places they can go and not get killed.
@gareeet The difference is Microsoft owns Rare. Microsoft bought into tomb raider to gain limited exclusive release, they don't own the company that made the game
@cmrbreno13 I have seen others asking for the flag for pvp as well.
While it does work in other games it doesn't really apply here as the server are so small. I believe there are 4 ships per server, so if the other 3 are not flagged then it's a PvE server and pretty much back to no risk vs reward.
I have been playing since launch (and in alpha and betas) if you choose to sail away and not trade shots with a ship its 100% achievable. The Ocean is large enough if you are using your spyglass to always check your surroundings you can easily stay away from others. I have not entered into any pvp yet since launch because I simply stay away from others
Ok so while I respect that you may want a PVE version of this game. I feel it is not fair on the community of this game to spend time and resources doing that.
Since day 1 Rare has been completely transparent that this is a PVP open World shared game.
For them to spend time and resources to make a separate server side and balance out a PVE only mode isn't fair.
That time should be spent on making the existing game expand. As was the original road map.
I don't understand why people have either A) purchased the game knowing full well it's a PVP title. Or B) obtained gamepass to play the game knowing its a PVP title. Even the release description tells you what the game is.
Would people ask Bethesda to make Fallout 4 have a PVP only mode? Why is it ok for a developer to cater for Singleplayer PVE fans with other games. But not ok for a developer to cater for PVP players specifically in a design of a game?
I'm sorry, but why did you purchase the game when there was no indication that the game was any different than what we have??
The game is great the way it is. Made for the people that love it how it is.
