Ehh...no offense but I'm getting tired of that excuse that they "didn't know how many people they would have at launch". I work in the software industry. You over estimate and then scale down. This isn't a new thing....in fact this happens so often that folks take it as "normal" now (which is pretty sad). The first company that publically overshoots their hardware they need (yes it costs some money), and then scales down LATER when you know your real volume - AKA has an actual smooth day 1 launch, is going to own literally every other game and have folks flocking to them.

I have played 14 hours and have 17k gold this game is amazing give it a chance to breathe. The first few days of a launch for massive multiplayer are always a lil rough. You have to have some reserve. This game is unlike anything we've seen in years!! I too pre ordered and have the same searching the seas problem. But meh ive got 45 games i can play while i wait for the first 24 of the game to settle. This is not new ppl!! Stop acting like s**t should work instantly and that "its not hard they suck at their job" needs to stop these guys have been working hard af on this s**t and the first little hiccup you guys whine k**e children.@monkeychow01
MS is stiff on budget and its a Killer App (my guess) but the profits probably already in so new server probably on the way from whereever to whereever imagine IT guys scrambling everywhere while lead developer is trying to not choke everyone in the office.fix my game do you see these posts?
@red-raider899 So you say as you played for so long. Yeah, give it a rest and let someone else have your spot on the server. Lol! I'd do the same though! Been in love with this game since the beginning.
I hosted a lobby, invited my friend, and waited to get the Cinnamon Beard error 3-4 times before I got kicked out of my own lobby and almost immediately my friend got into a server with a random member. It's really frustrating because I preordered and was really looking forward to this game. Not to sound like a pity party but I (and I'm sure a lot of other people excited about the game) don't exactly have the time to play as much as they want. It's kinda frustrating that the game is like a lottery at launch, not to mention the possibility of getting kicked halfway through, lagging, and/or not getting rewards for voyages when people can actually get in.
L**o ive been dreaming of a game like this for years 🤣 I just hate how everyone just loses thier minds when things that are so new dont work perfect right away. Everyone needs to chill, give it a day or two and things will be shipshape ;) also to anyone that says this game has no content or stuff to do in game. Please find the door and go play something a bit more your speed, like tic tac toe lol
@getrektplus - Oh yea...believe me, I'm sure I can guess what's happening at the office right now. Completely understand. And yea, I'm sure they ordered new servers (more) today to add to the loop based on some algorithms, and pulled some escalation strings to get a few spun up quickly. Won't fix the immediate problem, but hopefully in a few days you don't see this.
My issue is that this is a known thing with EVERY game....they knew better. They're not rookies. And while I get stiff on budget, reputation is everything in the business. Everyone is resting on the "well this happens always on day one", which is REALLY bad to have that attitude. It's not treating your customers right. This would be solved with temporary increase (for even say a WEEK of time) with some servers you spin up, and then ramp down based on volume. Why they didn't do that (other than politics, and the stiff budget as you said), blows my mind. You'd think a smooth day 1 launch would have skyrocketed the PR for this game farther than what it already is.
Worst part right now is that their main Community managers must be at home now. Because they've gone dark and silent for the last (almost 4 hours now) to us. That's not good. I know folks gotta sleep...and I get it. But at least put a note out on what is going on. Again, PR. It was handled great this afternoon, and very shoddy now.
