I personally think that it would be awesome to have enchants in weapon that act as cosmetics or/and as buffs for the weapon they are attached to like extra damage again skeletons or snakes etc.
The enchants would drop from rare quests/bosses/treasure.
Different enchants like elemental(fire,ice,wind) or eerie looking with different colors that would match the type of the enchantment
I mean who wouldnt love a pirate with a mighty looking enchanted sword :P?
Weapon enchants
@blackheart-cris not to mislead you in any way, but there are hints of some kind of enchantments on weapons in Rares concept art.
Now Rare has made it clear that there won't be any stats or enhancements that make a player better than the other. However that doesn't mean that these enchantments couldn't be restricted to PVE enemies or PVE content. Thus making your items simply look cool and have no impact in PVP.

For me, this is half the fun of customization in this game. It's the "look what I've got" factor.

I definitely think it would be fun and since the game is already so colorful, it would fit right in. That concept art image makes me super stoked for what could be in store with this game. Plus I'm all for working towards something and if thats something you get when you get to a certain "pirate level" then grind away i shall.
@vulpesger I have never played minecraft and enchants for the purpose i mentioned them are present in very popular games (will not mention other games cause this is SoT forum).By the way respect other peoples posts and opinions or explain why you disagree like an adult.Dont be toxic to someone who justs wants to help better the game.
@doxthafox In the failed retreat, both you and the Captain end up dying. You ask him on the Ferry of the Damned how he got the sword and you both spend the next 10 minutes talking and laughing about the adventures you've been on.

But in reality hes like "I have sunk 400+ hours into this game already, get on my level noob."
Then all of sudden the rest of your teammates show up on the Ferry of the Damned lol.
