Any furries here?

@zombie-p1ague Lol! What in the hey :D. I've never even heard of that but still pretty cool. And yea. I don't think it's possible to just come to understand furries. Either you like it or you don't. It's like I will never understand people liking the most expensive smart phones. Each time I played games there I got bored and if I wanted a good camera, I'd buy one just for that.
It's a curious world we live in and I just so was born to be a furry trash.
(At least everyone likes pirates :D)

As long as you keep the yiff to yourself it's all cool. Had a friend in college who loved to draw this stuff, like poster size and quality, was really... Something

@laughsmaniacaly Yea, the art is well spread all over the community and that's also why I'm so interested in it. I don't tend to pull that topic out in front of people, and especially not what you're referring to, so you don't really have to worry.
Furries are partially a great community and partially a really bad one. I'd say that as long as you keep picking the right people to befriend and don't cross any lines yourself, it gives your life a bit of a weird cool juice. I never drink, never did drugs in my life and don't even smoke but some people will be judgemental because a 22 years old shouldn't like watching Lilo and Stitch or How to train your dragon... Furries can be sick and disgusting, but way more often they are very creative artists that just have a very uncommon interest.

@cheatingpirate Yea, I get what you mean. I met many furries and not all of them are bad. My best female friend is a Russian artist with an incredible talent, not only for drawing but also music, writing and even politics. The problem is that most of the things people outside the fandom get to see are... well, bad. I'm not trying to pretend I'm a saint of some sort but as it tends to be, the more eccentric people get, the more they wanna show it off. And then things get weird...
Just a small taste of my friends work. Something I commissioned her for to give it to my non-furry friend. Already hangs on his wall :D

@cheatingpirate I know exactly what you mean. My friend Groz doesn't really do NSFW stuff. Neither she does furry only. She's a great gurl. I hope I'll get her to play SoT with me! :D

I drew a few things in my life, I'm much better on the paper than with a tablet but still it wasn't the art for me. I'm much better at writing (even poems), but I never got into it enough to write anything longer than a few thousand letters. I even did a bit of music in Fruity Loops and again. Not my thing. So the latest thing I'm trying to get to is flute playing. I really really want to make some kind of side music for the songs that are in SoT and play along with my friends. Like... them on hurdy gurdy in game and me on flute through mic. Hope I'll manage :D

Also.. I love how I spent hours making posts of feature ideas and then a post consisting of literally 2 words gets like 20 times the attention! xD

As for the furries out there all i can say is we all grew up with disney, i think some love for furries comes from these days and for some it never left. If i had to psychoanalys it I'd say it holds some deep desire of being a kid again when everything was bright, fun and open to exciting adventures. Thus being part of their world fills you with an adventurous joy.

NB I'm not an actual shrink if you couldn't tell.

@laughsmaniacaly I completely agree there. I know some will call me a man-child but never to fully "grow up" is the way I want to live. Kinda trying to get the best of the both worlds... How's it work for the others however, who knows.

@retto-elbaroda I'll admit i tried my hand to it through secondary school in an attempt to recapture the disney esc of robin hood or the star fox franchise but eventually stopped (also i was terrible at hands so gave up) i did enjoy the blocking and it gave variety to the mundane sketch material i had at the time. I have since moved to Blueprinting and other architecture styles of design and even currently exploring my hand at 3d designs so i feel my early excitement probably did guide me to where i am now. Maybe those furry days did me good, who knows lol

@laughsmaniacaly Hah! Yea, almost like a butterfly effect that turned out pretty well :).
I'm atm just making money outside of my country of birth, where I get paid much more, so when I get back, I can hopefully start my own cafe and live of the money I'll be making there :).
But it feels like my life just keeps bringing me to places I would never expect to be. Thankfully it's all good surprises so far.
