HOUR GLASS

  • While I understand the developers wanted to try something new with Last Ship Standing, forcing it on the Sloop player base as a mandatory replacement for standard Hourglass completely ruins the competitive integrity of the game.Currently, the mode is heavily flawed because it takes away the "real" Hourglass experience. Instead of skill-based 1v1 naval duels, matches devolve into third-party chaos and organic teaming. To fix this, Rare should implement two key changes:Give players a choice: Do not force the Battle Royale queue on everyone. Let us choose whether we want to dive into a standard 1v1 Faction Battle or join the Last Ship Standing free-for-all.Reduce the XP rewards: The current Allegiance payout is way too high for a mode that can be heavily cheesed. Players are ranking up simply by running away, letting other ships fight, and farming passive XP without actually engaging in naval combat. Pure 1v1s require much more effort and skill, and the rewards should reflect that. Please let players who actually enjoy competitive 1v1s opt-out of this event!

Play it. Report the bugs so they can remove the flawed elements. Plus it only for 1 week. Not everyone plays all 7 days.

Instead of skill-based 1v1 naval duels, matches devolve into third-party chaos and organic teaming.

"Skilled-based" meaning...me throwing kegs into a rowboat, waiting for ship to appear and blowing them up without a single cannon is skill based?
Or i can just use blunder bombs to knock people off ships and keep them off, while I dominate their ship. Skill? OR...tactical thinking.
Along with, sailing around an open world map, see two ship fighting, one happens to be a faction I support and help my fella pirates win. That?

Do not force the Battle Royale queue on everyone.

They have already said once they iron out all the bugs and doesnt need any more changes, as well offer up Brig/Galleon sessions, with Console only. They will in time, make it an option. But doing that for a sole week...not worth it.
    Again, it just a week.

    Hourglass once was.

SO? Let them earn the way they want. What stopping you from chasing them.....Oh wait nobody likes to chase, but then we have the shrinking circle.

Pure 1v1s require much more effort and skill, and the rewards should reflect that.

Again, where is this pure 1v1 skilled thing? Third party ships come in, I welcome them.
Its PvP, they wanna pvp, let them. It takes real skill to fight off multiple ships anyways...if you cant do that well....

The rumors I've heard, are that there's not enough interest for both modes at the same time, as it'll mean much longer queues in HG and less ships in LSS. So, they have to have everyone do one or the other, but not both.
