Blunderbuss Adjustments

  • Recently I’ve seen a lot of players express opinions that the Blunderbuss in its current state feels weak, and I do agree but to a certain extent. A lot of people want One Blunder to be brought back but I personally think the server hit registration is better off without it. Instead, I think 2 changes may be helpful to bring it back into play more often.

    Spread Buff

    Seriously, PLEASE, bring the spread in. The Blunderbuss only works in ranges the Sword is much better at performing in, and Sword nerfs would just gut the weapon outright. Tightening the spread allows the advantage of the Blunderbuss to be its range, with its disadvantage being its reload time and limited ammo. I think 5 or 6 boars away from your opponent is an appropriate range for the weapon to have all its pellets hit on a well placed shot.

    Pellet Rework

    Rather than overloading the server with 10 pellets of 9 damage, what about 6 pellets of 15 damage. The pellets hurt much more, but landing them individually becomes more important. This also still adds up to 90 total damage. I think the big challenge with this is just finding a good spread pattern but if it’s possible, it would reduce the load on the server when firing a Blunderbuss, making the registration much more effective.

    I feel like these two changes are fair in a way where it gives Sword and Blunderbuss their own situations without hurting the effectiveness of one weapon or the other.
