Concerning a once thriving Competitive community that this game once had/hosted in the past.
Custom servers could very well revive that part of the community, you know, the die hard fanbase that you sidelined, and brushed under rug, RARE?
Dear RARE Devs and Community Managers. Would it be too much to ask or look into say a point system/preset as an option in custom servers that mimics the ones that Arena had?
How in depth are these custom servers? Are we able to spawn a circle on areas of the map, set ship spawns, and add a point preset like Arena did? Thus recreating Arena?
Are we able to go on a full modded support spree that other games that offer Sandbox custom server features?
Or is it just going to be a glorified version of the current partnered Sea of Thieves private servers with just a few tacked on servers and calling it day (Wouldn't surprise me). And once again ''MiSsInG tHe MaRK''.
That also Captaincy and Guilds have done. Lots of missed potential and half baked features that don't really add much to the game as a whole.
I believe If RARE wants to build longevity to the game, they should do their due diligence in custom servers with ''full'' Feature sets that can benefit all sub communities for years to come.
The price tag that is reported to come with opening Custom Servers is already a 'gatekeep' system in itself. It needs to be convincing for player to subscribe to that option.
