ashen garrisons "mega stash of loot" its 60% doubloon items!!!! what....

  • with the ignoring of feedback on the doubloon topic. the dismissive people on here like [mod removed] saying doubloons are earned passively when that arguement can be made about everything in this game.... here is a fine example. this is loot we dont get passively we have to work hard for this loot. and its mostly doubloon stuff. great for people who still need doubloons to buy the fomo..... but rare in their total lack of transparency didnt tell us how much these items will cost, what they will look like, so those without a lot of doubloons have no idea how much they need to farm, while those with lots of doubloons dont know how much is safe to spend before the fomo stuff is added. and we also dont know what the fomo cosmetics look like as they havent been shown (should have shown them in that announcement video)

rare DO BETTER!!! we need information.... if youre still going through with the doubloon reset we need details! its obvious your mind is made up on this topic. as such TELL US!!!!!!! how many do we need? people need to know how much to grind before the update happens. you have given 2 events this season with ways to gain lots of doubloons so weve had multiple months to farm for them but you havent told us how much we need. and we wont know till we only have 4 weeks to grind out what we might need? this is almost as gross as the fact that you are deleting the currency in the first place..... also that being said for those talking about passive income. i have never bought clothing on this character. i have also never bought ancient coins. i have 4170 ancient coins from "passive" gameplay, i have 5 pages of clothing, 2 pages of weapons, 2 pages of equipment, 5 pages of ship cosmetics (i did buy kraken sails for the tear visibility advantage since DA sails werent worth buying anymore) so all this from "passive gameplay" so yes i also have 11,255 doubloons and also 36,887,310 gold.... also from passive gameplay because this is an alt i made just for the same of having a backup character on my solo sloop in case i even got disconnect. a lesson i learned in the early days of sea of thieves when there apparently was a multiple monitor bug that ruined my early cargo runs when we didnt have a rejoin open so we could close out of the game and simple log back in to fix things. (thank you for whatever player figured out that multi monitors was the reason for that issue) also [mod removed] you can use this as a good marker of how many doubloons people actually earn passively vs actually had to put effort into the game. i know there are at least 2 really expensive doubloon items. i dont know the exact costs. ill probably buy them before the wipe just to have them as they do look cool even if this is an alt. but i think they are about 4000 each? so 2 of those would use up over half my "passive" doubloons. and if we look at old cosmetics from seasons gone by they cost like 700 each? and how many cosmetic rewards do we get per season? i could buy maybe 16 items at the 700 value. or the 2 expensive ones and 4 other ones. the doubloon problem is a year1 player problem as well as neglect on the developers part. playstation players especially are going to be hurt the most by this wipe. but also anyone new to the game

so while this alt might not need the doubloons its only because theres not much worth buying with them. i would have bought levels but i also passively got pirate legend so who needs the levels? we cant buy hourglass levels though i also passively got hourglass curses via pve discords (on a different character) via the treasure trove defensive hourglass option. slower than winning and getting streaks sure... but still totally possible to get curses via pve only so any arguement to not allow us to buy levels is invalid until you remove the treasure trove system as a lvl 5 treasure trove is = to handing in a 1 streak hourglass (can we call 1 a streak? maybe just call it a level) so slower than playing hourglass for sure but faster than loss farming (also something people do and dont get punished for). risk of screwing up a pve server by getting sunk with hourglass up, which between the burning blade and ancient megs and smugglers kegs is now easier than ever to have happen so not even worth the risk imo. also in my defense of hourglassing on a pve server might be considered "cheap" lets not forget the world 1st pirate legend got there by having his twitch community invite him to servers for when they would sell loot (a big reason why people argue there shouldnt be a kick option) also the number of exploiting when hourglass came out that rare never punished anyone for... the ship alligator spin, sky keg droping, the shores of gold trick.... which btw i wanted to test out shores of gold and hourglass back when i was on insiders but they kept doing character wipes and tall tales were locked behind completing them all so i wasnt going to grind that out to be able to test this, i could have reported that exploit back their but their way of handling insiders was so poorly done that i couldnt. so i quit the program.

point being everything in this game is passive. throwing doubloon items at us right before a doubloon wipe feels insulting? unless its intentionally to pad our wallets so we can afford the fomo but your lack of providing us the info we need is not cool. tell us what we need to know.

The name drop is the most wild thing I've seen on this forum, I'm sure the comments will be civil, right?

Back on your point, I have heard that the doubloon prices won't be announced too early because people may either blow it all away and save them up again or not used them at all so they can buy the items (either way they will not be expensive).

You will not miss out for the FOMO because the transactions will happen automatically, meaning if you don't play during the cosmetics' release then you will still get them based on the doubloon wallet you have. You have 11k so it's definitely affordable for you, no need to worry.

  • @karminiumsot yea i mean its nothing person against [mod removed] just a name ive seen respond the most and longest so not a personal attack more a ok defend your position if doubloons are passive income what isnt passive? as this is an alt everything on this character is passive lol near 70 with most factions, almost 100 with athena i only made this character to get "musical sea dog" in the arena because finding 4 people do do the shanty on stage in the arena tavern was nearly impossible at the time i did it so i made a bunch of alts and setup a keyboard macro to have them all play music. [mod removed] has been around from day1 and been insanely dismissive of everyones comments and ideas. and i would say half of the things hes shot down other peopls comments on have ended up being changes made to the game eventually. which shows the ideas were valid. the devs just took their time on acting upon them. or some newer change like hourglass forced the devs hands. theres not many other names on here there are still around from year 1 always shooting down others ideas. i havent seeen [mod removed] in forever assuming she quit. but she was very similar.

  • @roborob-r66y Not cool to name drop in the forums dude. If you have a suggestion or issue to discuss just stick to it.

  • @roborob-r66y makes sense. its honestly nice seeing people find others in forums and try to actually nitpick at their ideas in a RESPECTFUL manner (respectful being key word).

  • how many do we need? people need to know how much to grind before the update happens.

So they tell you, say....every new item will be 5000 Doubloons.
Now..your disappointed because that is unreasonable to grind...

It better to not know...like knowing the future.

This right here is why I think the commemorative sail, sword, whatever, should be given to everyone affected by this. Imagine being a veteran, buying up everything you can with doubloons, only to find out later you needed them to purchase the commemorative stuff, and too bad you didn't have enough at the time to purchase them, despite playing the game for years now.
