Increasing Voyage Payouts.

  • The casual voyages in the game need a desperate money increase for the amount of time they take also the risk involved, and for casual players. Some players can’t even afford an embassy faction after 3 days of setting sail (Not everyone is a pro Mr.cursed skelly gear) because the voyage’s are not paying so well. I believe the game needs more “beginner friendly activities” to make the game engaging, also I believe that players would be less likely to PVP knowing there are better payouts in voyages.

They've already increased money so much in this game. Anymore would be insane.

It took me months to be able to buy the cosmetics I wanted... Why should everyone now be able to get an emissary flag just after three days ?

There is enough to do for new players and meanwhile accummulate gold to either buy an emissary flag (20k) or a captained ship (100k); while tempting hold of on buying the (more expensive) cosmetiics until you have a way to speed up selling and/or get a bonus.

Captained ship speeds up selling, so if I would start now instead of 8 years ago, I would save up for that. Perhaps focus on one trading company so you'll raise the level of that one faster, get better voyages with better payout and then the emissary flag.

Also there are multiple ways of easily getting loot - and thus rep and gold - other than voyages from the quest table, shipwrecks, random loot on islands, maps from random skellie captains or a Sea Fort.

As soon as the easy voyages will have even higher loot there will be demands of even more loot on more risky endeavours.

What? They pay enough for the amount of time. Which is less when you dive to it. 0 risk
Don’t forget you get free gold doing daily deeds and moving up the season.

Paying more won’t help if you still sink.

  • @lem0n-curry Just because you went through hard times doesn’t mean others should have to obviously. We should use are experiences to make things easier for others not harder. Not every player has hours on hours on their hands to “save up for a captain ship” (some casual players don’t even know where to get one). Players are looking for casual gameplay with high payouts. Not hours of grinding.

    captain ships are 250K

I'm not asking at all for others to go through the same hard times, some effort should be expected - talking about months of play and you asking to get it in three days casually play is quite a difference. It's been toned down a lot, IMHO way too much already.

Oops, indeed, Captained Sloop is 250k, others are more expensive, I assume the OP is sailing a sloop,

Might change my mind into getting emissary flag first if I have to get that kind of gold outside of world events.

  • They added smuggling for a reason. A voyage where you compete with other players (in all my time of playing, I have done hundreds of those, and only encountered 2 players. One was a hacker who just wanted my reaper chest, the other was just a dweeb who attacked me for no reason.) Skelly ships you can take out in under a minute, and you get 20,000 to 40,000 gold depending on the painting, and it takes 10 minutes. Treasure is really only good for money and blowing stuff up, and is very, very VERY hard to sell. But if you are new, this is for you! (even rhymes!)

If you're new, there's Safer Seas, which now provides 100% gold value. Do whatever you wish with that information. Exactly what @Lem0n-Curry said, it took me quite a while to save up 8.2 million for those DA sails. The point is, I and many others were able to save up our gold to purchase what we wanted, and this was at a time when Safer Seas wasn't even a thought, a good voyage used to earn around 5k gold, there were no such thing as seaforts or skeleton camps, or Sovereign for that matter.

You're 100% correct when you say that just because we went thru hard times doesn't mean others should have to. So, the developers created Safer Seas, shorter-content for those who don't have a lot of time to play, and the ability to quick-sell at a Sovereign tower. They've also removed the requirement to BUY voyages (I earned the achievement buy purchasing so many of those) as now you have all of them for free. Diving makes it take even less time. The game has already had plenty of changes to accomodate players.

If you believe players would be less-likely to pvp knowing there are better payouts in voyages, you're not going to have a fun time here LOL. My crew and I no longer care about the gold. It's the epic fights we're after, meeting amazing players, and having hilarious memories and stories to tell. For us, it's not about how much gold we can make doing a gold vault.

To quote the Pirate Lord, "It's not about the gold. It's about the glory."

P.S. It's not everyday I read a post complaining about both PvE and PvP at the same time.

    Speak for yourself.
These same players will say "They have nothing to do" later and that is because, they got all the gold to buy everything...

  • @europa4033 You talk as if there not obligated to accommodate for newer players, there supposed to scrap bad decisions for good ones when a game first release doesn’t mean we have to cling to it, I already have more money then someone could think about, but the state of them game right now is “PVP get the most money” and I’m sick of it (also other players). You proved my point by admitting “You and your crew only play for the epic fights” because you knew that’s the highest money reward correct? Put yourself in the shoes of solo players who don’t have crews.

1- It seems to me as they've done quite a lot to accommodate new players. When I was new, I never got a banner warning me that raising an emissary meant I could potentially be targetted. Safer Seas wasn't around. Sovereign wasn't around. I had to earn gold by doing voyages...which I had to buy with gold. Being in a guild with a crew, didn't exist. Buying and naming your own ship, didn't exist. I loaded a ship that just had basic bananas. There are other games where you load in with just a rock and a knife, and good luck. Not so here.

2- No matter where I am in the game or what I'm doing, gold is the farthest thing from my mind. I do not pvp because "that's the highest money reward." Heck I don't even take the loot from a seafort, I just pull up, run around collect supplies, cook while I kill phantoms, open the door to the vault and leave. If I wanted gold, I'd do skeleton camps, stack world events, do ashen athenas, etc. as I'm quite capable of doing it myself.
If you're referring to Reaper, that's a risk you choose to accept when you raise that flag and are seen on the map by everyone. At grade 5, you see other emissaries on the map, and can absolutely go sink their ship for their flag. There's achievements for turning in flags at Reapers. If they have nothing but a flag, I'll take it (and their supplies). I don't know what kind of loot is on that ship over there nor do I care. Naturally if they have certain items (chest of fortune for example), I'll sell just that since I don't yet have the achievement for selling 300. If they don't have anything I'm interested in stealing (coughpirategamecough), I'll let it sink and dive to a new server with just their flag. I don't raise Reapers for the gold bonus. I do it so I can see other ships on the map, as I happen to love pvp. Gold is nothing but a byproduct to me.

3- According to your XBox profile, you have 25 days played. There are many here who've played quite a lot more (including yours truly). There are also many players and streamers who insist on solo-slooping. Not sure what your point is when you ask me to put myself in their shoes? If you're trying to say that solo sloopers can't make a lot of gold, I seriously beg to differ lol. You don't even need a ship in some cases, as I've sunk ships using nothing but a rowboat. I've sunk the Burning Blade with a harpoon. A friend and I sank another duo-sloop, we weren't interested in their loot, left them their rowboat, and dove to a new server (I have the video clip). We even stole another player's sloop and donated our stacked treasure for their service, just to sink a brig lol. Soloing is playing the game on 'hard mode', and is the quickest way to get good at this game. Going solo is your choice though.

But you're right about one thing. Meeting other amazing people in this game gives me the highest-reward, when they become friends. Those are the times when our shananigans become priceless memories/videos we still laugh about years later.
