STOP SPAWNING SKELETONS ON ISLAND CANNONS

  • It adds nothing to the game, it's not a fun or interesting mechanic, it's just an additional annoyance and then they de-spawn once you get close enough to snipe them.

All that does is force you to park closer to the island - rather than being able to stop further out and then launch over with a canon - otherwise your ship gets shot up.

Giving us minutes of repair time without combat when we try to visit any large island is not my idea of a good time, more like a waste of time, only forts should have them.

Or dock the ship at a place where the cannons can't shoot you.

  • That can't really be a legitimate response lol you really want people to remember where each cannon is on each island in the sea? which is going to change depending on which direction you're coming from? and you're still going to get shot at as you maneuver the ship into that position, and again at that point they would usually just de-spawn anyway, so that still doesn't fix the issue.

Dock behind the small island with Burning Tony for Ruby's Fall, Dock on the southside of Crook's Hollow (though there might be some shots if you come from the south), at the smuggler's at Old Faithful (though that's close where one of the towers can aim), &c.

I try to dock on the same spot when I visit larger islands, that's usually a spot where cannons (if any) can't hit my ship, it also helps with finding back my ship 😎.

There aren't that many islands with cannons that you couldn't remember them; besides more cosmetics, knowledge of the Seas is one of the perks of playing this game longer / more often than people who are new(er) or haven't bothered to go to islands.

They have terrible aim, so perhaps you get shot once or twice when finding a better spot to dock or during the time you get close enough to a spot on the island where they can't aim at you.

    Never had them despawn though.

  • I remember very clearly this was posted before, if not in the very same manner and with the exact same words. Which probably means you (or your alt) deleted the post cuz it was rightfully disagreed with, and so it doesn't get locked up as a duplicate.

That said and in the spirit of the good old times - learn the map and git gud. 😂 Only big islands have them and not even all of them.

They serve the purpose of reminding (especially) new players to pay attention to their surroundings, even in Safer Seas.

If you can't deal even with dumb bad-aim skeletons, maybe you should consider switching to Tetris.

And no, they do not despawn. They just don't have an angle to shoot at your ship once you're too close, and are still standing beside that cannon.

PS. also, capsing a thread is just looking ridiculous and against forum rules. And looking at your previous threads, it seems it's a habit for you.

  • Cannons don't move - stop getting hit by them.

  • Your complaint pretty much is the reason to keep them. Makes the island seem active and threatening. Surprise

Maybe stop getting shot by island cannons? it takes four seconds to repair you'll be fine.

I'm currently at a coffee shop reading this, and just from memory, I can tell you to watch the north side of Snake Island, the west and north side of Crooks Hollow, the south-east side of Thieves Haven, there's more I remember but you get the idea. Learning about the particulars of an island just comes from experience, and visiting them often to where you know where to park or not park.

It's not just cannons either. I know where rowboats and kegs tend to be (like the keg near the barrels on the pier of Cannon Cove). Again, it's just from experience. It's little things like this you don't have to commit to memory, but what you observe so much from simply playing the game.

  • They dont despawn outside of forts?
Yes knowledge of cannon placement is additional info an experienced player can use to their advantage. Island cannons do not put out lots of pressure compared with forts

  • Sounds like a skill issue not a game issue lol

  • While they can be a tad annoying, they're easy to deal with. It doesn't take much to learn the "safe" spots to stop at each island. Knowledge is power. Plus, they act as an early warning system for other ships approaching. Which is a very useful thing.
