Idea - walk in wardrobe and treasury.

  • I think it would be fun to add an immersive 3D space that you can walk around in, where every cosmetic you've bought or earned is displayed. Weapons are hung up on the walls, clothes on rails, titles and awards framed, tools in glass cabinets, maybe even a huge warehouse type space to run around in with all the ships you've bought.

In addition you could have a treasury with a visual representation of the amount of gold currently in your account.

I think this would be a more exciting way to watch your collection grow than just seeing a grid menu, and would encourage players to spend their gold and ancient coins, especially if there was the option to invite other pirates to walk around in your space. I also think players would enjoy taking screenshots and videos of their collection and their piles of gold to share with the community.

Since this would be a purely visual effect and would not offer any strategic advantage, Rare could charge ancient coins for the privilege of having one of these spaces.

Given that all the rewards in this game are cosmetic, I think this would be a nice way to let people enjoy the fruits of their labour.

  • Fun idea but I think resources should be spent elsewhere at this point in the game.

I wish they did something more social with the sea dogs tavern but I don't know how they would do that. Even if it was just a place for maybe 15 friends to hang out in. As it stands, only private servers that streamers use can do this.

  • Thanks. Honestly though, I wouldn't worry about Rare "spending resources elsewhere". They've said before it's not a simple case of "spending resources on X means they're not spending them on Y", and this forum works best if ideas are judged individually on their own merit, rather than us trying to prioritise and only suggest what's most important.

Your idea about sea dogs tavern for example is great. And I'm torn because I would love for something to be done with it, but I also love that it's kind of a relic of a bygone era from before I started playing. I love that the Sea of Thieves has a real history that was written by its players, which intermingles with the fictional lore written by writers. I love that that history is set, and that I can't touch it. It makes the shared world feel bigger and older and more real.

That being said I guess the two ideas are not mutually exclusive. Maybe the place where we hang out could no longer be the lively social scene it once was, but a dingy, decrepit space where small groups meet in secret and talk in hushed voices, and learn the history of the Sea of Thieves from mementos that were forgotten and left behind to gather dust.
