Black Powder Keg and Fruit Crate Voyages

  • Ahoy!!

I haven’t looked through this forum to see if this suggestion has been posted before, but I and I am sure a lot of people would love to see Voyages that allow for Powder Keg and Fruit Crate deliveries be added back into the Sea of Thieves Voyage choices for the Merchant Alliance. I joined the Sea of Thieves when it was released on PlayStation 5 and as I am closing in on the 100% trophy unlocks for the Launch Edition DLC, the RNG of these 2 voyages is definitely proving a stumbling block for me and friends. When the game was relatively new, these quests were easily accessible and since these quests are attached to trophies, it would be really brilliant if there was a guaranteed way to go for progression. With the season 17 update, I am finding it even more rare that there are green bottles appearing on my voyages, replaced with way more Smuggler Bottles and I feel now that I am wasting my time as opposed to enjoying the progressions. I definitely feel that it would be a very fair update for Sea of Thieves and wouldn’t be classed as unfair to gamers from beforehand as a lot of gamers beforehand simply had to set the quest up and do it. There are more than enough things to do in sea of thieves to hold both my time and engagement levels and if this was something that I could work on without having to deal with RNG, it would definitely make the experience a lot more enjoyable as I get to the finish line of this particular DLC! I hope that the team takes the time to check out my post and would love to see a possibility of a future update to allow for progress to be made towards the trophies that are unfairly challenging!

    Thankyou

  • This is easily one of the top 10 most requested things across the entire forum

  • This is one of the most requested things to be fixed and adjusted.

The only reliant way of getting these parchments (now that the Smuggler bottles have taken over the spawn rate completely) is to find the Mysteries journals (the pink books) on random islands. They have multiple spawn locations and change spots from server to server.

And even if you do get lucky and find these journals, they are clogged with (in my opinion) - stupid voyages, that you can get from simply starting them from your ships Quest table. Gold Hoarder digs and Skeletons should not be in these parchments at all. End of.

I think the developers did speak about wanting to change this not too long ago. Might have been on one of the podcasts they do on YouTube. So maybe a change is coming soon..

  • I am closing in on the 100% trophy unlocks

By next season that will change :P Always adding new achievements to a endless system.

  • @burnbacon Indeed! 😆

  • They just need to make it a voyage or attach it to the animal deliveries and what not.

I have a feeling they are aware but it is on their low priority because they need to get other content out / fixes first. I'm hopeful that once this season ends it will be addressed either with reduced smuggler bottles or something.

  • Completely agreed. There are many ways to improve the situation, hopefully eventually it will be looked at. I favour adding them to the Merchant Emissary quest. The current quest is very underwhelming, and having more Grade V emissaries on a server can only be a good thing.

It is possible to make progress on it now. I have recently finished Cannonballs and Fruits. Just kegs and wood to go. It is extremely tedious though. I'm using maps with mysterious journals marked and gold hoarder hopping to certain islands. It's not exactly thrilling game play.

Yeah, that’s sounds extremely painful. Hopefully the issue of having to rely solely on RNG will be addressed sooner than later and just, as you say, allow for a selectable voyage to get the trophies these are attached to a lot easier!
