Sails Customization

    Ever since we lost our creative Dark Adventure Sails it’s been boring while helming in a perspective.

    I heard them loud and clear when the developers said that the creativity of ships and sails were lacking because everyone was using the Dark Adventure Sails and it wasn’t because of their theme or color scheme but the shape of the sails.

    So I believe it would be great to add a little more creativity back to sails in a way by purchasing with doubloons new sail shapes including the Dark Adventure Sail triangular cut.

    This would add more personality, personalization and functionality to the game for pirates.

    The amount of doubloons should be a high amount so it would be aimed at the players that put their time into the game.

    I think this is a great idea! There needs to be more options for the daily players to spend our dabloons and gold. Set the price high and give meaning to the currency again! I also think they should release past cosmetics again for purchase so that people can get cool stuff they missed out on. They gave away the legend curse from being around during season 1, by participating in the hourglass. So gatekeeping rare cosmetics shouldn't be an issue. I know I still need a few cosmetics from past seasons and events that I missed out on

    Ah, so you want to literally add pay to win to a game that is staunchly against pay to win.

    The DA cut was removed because it gave an advantage over normal sail shapes. And that was for gold.
    So I doubt they will give it back for dubloons.

    The amount of doubloons should be a high amount so it would be aimed at the players that put their time into the game.

    So a pay-2-win advantage aimed at people with loads of disposable income.

    Nah.

    Well you can earn doubloons in adventure just like gold, so I don’t see your point.

    Didnt they say the whole triangular cut was a "pay to win" sorta category? Since...the only reason you kids bought them was to see better :/

    It's still pay 2 win. Because people can pay (be it in-game gold or RL money for dubloons) to get a cut that they devs said was giving an advantage.
    And the devs have said that no cosmetics should give an advantage over other cosmetics.

    That's my point: Regardless of the method of payment, it's still an advantage that people are paying for. IE: pay 2 win.

    They took it out because it was unfair for players who didn't have PL and 8 million gold for it. Doubloon or gold, it's irrelevant. They will not put it back in the game because they took it out for being unfair. You don't get to be unfair if you can afford it.

    What they could do instead is add sail cuts as a general thing that you can apply to every sail. And to prevent everyone just running the most convenient cut, they could reduce top speed relative to how much of the sail is missing, and catching less wind (or use current top speed as a baseline and increase speed a bit if you run uncut sails)

    This way it'd let players choose between more visibility or higher top speed, or a reduced mix of both.

    Personally i already kind of do this by raising the main sail a bit on the Brig and Galleon to get some more visibility for a slight speed decrease.
