Do the fishing voyages instead.

Those quests don't take that long.

Search for fish in shipwreck barrels and barrels'o'plenty; When you get the ability to raise emissary flag it'll go faster (as then you can find the new Megs as well).

Try to find a crewmate who has the Hunter's Call Emissary flag.

Added: also, turn in gems and other such items in at the Hunter's Call.

Fishing is supposed to be to long and grindy.

It use to be a lot more , they already nerf it. Think twice. It super easy now. Kind of sad :(
