I'm aware people are, not displeased with these... I've seen others even fear they may have changed, only to be relieved they are exactly the same as always. But I personally feel like this is more a detriment than a plus.
First I'd like to say, the extended timers relative to crew size and visual fires on the altar are appreciated.
But, vaults do not feel worth my time to do with all the other, quicker voyages now available. Like I implied though I know many people will disagree. But I like the quicker, less loot focused approach in season 11! And when one of my favorite activities, vaults, didn't abide by those changes, I was disappointed. They were always tedious to do, moving all that treasure up from the depths, especially if you're solo. And nothing about that has changed, except that I now associate their old treasure as less valuable, because it is.
Vaults were always hit or miss with their general treasure. With a gold key, you could get a dozen captains chest and many marauders, or two captains chest and mostly seafarers. Combine this uncertainty of loot with the time and tedium of the vault, and put it up against the new, quick, high value treasure voyages. It's easy to see why I don't want to do vaults anymore.
Oddly, the treasure skellies that spawn do drop the new high end trinkets occasionally. But having none of the new treasure in the vault itself is kind of a blow.
I'd like to see vault loot reworked with a mix of sailors and sea masters chest. Maybe about a dozen, give or take some? Not too many, but a good amount to emphasize the "vault" over other voyages. Can have the sea masters chest mostly at the top areas, with sailors chest dotting the mid sections, and throw in three to six of the new trinkets with a couple collectors chest. Scale the ratio of sailors to sea masters chest to the length of the vault.
Less treasure to haul, still more treasure than other gold hoarder voyages, still worthy of the time spent and worth the scope of opening a treasure vault.
